Gymhawks Set to Compete for WCGNIC Title This Weekend
Southeast Missouri Gymnastics will eye to capture the 2025 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational title beginning on Friday, April 11, in Shreveport, Louisiana. The competition will continue Saturday, April 12 in the team final (7 p.m.) before concluding on Sunday, April 13 with the individual event finals (1 p.m.). The competition is held at the Gold Dome on the campus of Centenary.Â

What Is It?Â
The WCGNIC competition is new to the world of gymnastics this year, replacing the former USAG National Championship competition which ended in 2024. The WCGNIC is held for teams who rank 50
th or lower in college gymnastics at the end of the season or offer an equivalency of no more than six full financial awards for women's gymnastics, according to the WCGNIC manual.Â

Semifinal #1
The Gymhawks will compete in the first of two semifinals on Friday beginning with session I at 2:00 p.m. in Shreveport. SEMO will take on Bridgeport, Southern Connecticut, and Greenville. The Gymhawks have faced only Greenville and Bridgeport in 2025 and will face Southern Connecticut for the first time this season. SEMO Gymnastics downed by Bridgeport (194.400-193.850) and Greenville (194.200-189.025) earlier this year.

2021 National Champions
Southeast Missouri Gymnastics captured the USAG National Championship title at the conclusion of the 2021 season. The title was the first National Championship for seventh year head coach
Ashley Lawson. The Gymhawks scored a 195.025 in Cape Girardeau to capture the program's first championship title.Â

Coming into the championship weekend, the Redhawks rank 58
th in the country according toÂ
Road to Nationals. Texas Woman's (MIC) ranks the highest in the eight team field at number 48, followed by SEMO, Bridgeport (61), Alaska (68), West Chester (70), Southern Connecticut (73), Greenville (78), and Centenary (80). Â

MIC Championship
The last time that Southeast Missouri Gymnastics competed as a team came back on Friday, March 21, at the Midwest Independent Conference Championships in Shreveport. The Gymhawks achieved their highest score of the season with a 194.725, their third score north of 194 on the season.Â

All-Around Champion
Junior
Taylor Ingle captured the MIC all-around title with a 39.300, tying her season-high for the all-around in the championship meet. Ingle notched her sixth all-around title of the season at the meet, including capturing the title on beam with a 9.850.Â

Beam Champion
Sophomore
Leah Parton captured the beam title at the MIC Championship where she tied teammate
Taylor Ingle with a 9.850. The score marked her season-high in the championship final and was her third score of 9.800 or higher on the beam.Â

Beam Queens
The Gymhawks ended the regular season on beam improving over the final four meets of the season beginning with a 48.325 (Feb. 28) and concluding with a 49.050 at the MIC Championship meet. SEMO scored north of 48.000 the final four meets of the season, while the 49.050 was the third team score of 49.000 or higher.Â

The Gymhawks are fresh off a 194.725 performance in the MIC Championship, their highest score of the season. Here are the Gymhawks highest rotation scores of the season:Â

Taylor Ingle, NCAA Regional
Junior
Taylor Ingle of Southeast Missouri Gymnastics placed 8th overall in the all-around at the 2025 NCAA Gymnastics Tuscaloosa Regional Friday afternoon from Coleman Coliseum.

Ingle finished with an all-around score of 38.800 including a meet-high score of 9.825 on the floor. For Ingle, the 9.825 placed her tied for 16th with Kaya Forbes and Elly King of North Carolina.Â

She recorded a pair of 9.700s on the beam and bars and rounded out her scores with a 9.575 on the vault. Ingle finished in 22nd on the beam, tied for 23rd on the bars, and was tied for 26th on the vault.Â

For Ingle, her score of 38.800 in the all-around marked her 13th score of 38.000 or higher in the all-around competition of the season. Madelyn Williams of California won the all-around competition with a 39.625 followed by teammate Mya Lauzon with a 39.575.

Taylor Ingle is the first Gymhawk since 2017 to compete in the NCAA Regionals in the all-around. The 2025 Midwest Independent Conference All-Around Champion has competed in the all-around in every single meet this season.Â
