PADUCAH, Ky. - Valeriia Kashina and Melissa Martin each posted singles victories as Southeast Missouri (9-10, 3-5) fell to Jacksonville State (9-13, 5-4) by a score of 5-2 Monday morning in Ohio Valley Conference action.

The Redhawks, who were initially scheduled to host the Gamecocks in Cape Girardeau, moved their match indoors at a neutral location in Paducah, Ky. due to inclement weather.

Southeast lost its fifth-straight match and third in as many days.

For the third match in a row, the Redhawks scored their points at the No. 2 and No. 6 singles positions. Kashina won her first match at No. 2 this season, defeating Olivia Nguyen. She dropped the first set, 4-6, but battled back to win the match with 6-1, 10-3 victories. Martin won her fourth in a row at the No. 6 position, beating Zoe Bizinos in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2. Valeriia Nagovitcina played for the first time at the top of the lineup, falling to Raisa Guasti, 6-2, 6-3.

JSU claimed the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. Guasti/Claudia Marsala beat Kashina/Ekaterina Donetckova, 8-6, and Danielle Kerindi/Aleksandra Crniljic got by Annisa Warasanti/Katy Brady, 8-2.

The Redhawks, who have lost each of their last three matches by identical 5-2 scores, return to action to host Northeast State Friday.
