CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Valeriia Kashina, Valeriia Nagovitcina and Annisa Warasanti each scored singles victories, as Southeast Missouri (1-2) came up on the short end of a 4-3 loss to Northern Iowa (1-0) Friday afternoon.

Kashina defeated Erica Medlin, 6-2, 6-3, at the No. 1 spot, while Nagovitcina beat Jieke Stroobant, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 2. Warasanti defeated Krissy Lankelma, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7) in the No. 5 position.

"Lera and Val played with confidence and had explosive shots which led them to victory," said Southeast head coach Leah Hottois. "Annisa played control and smart."

UNI secured the doubles point.

Southeast returns to action when it heads to Butler on Feb. 7.
