Heather Robinson picked up Southeast's only singles win at the No. 1 spot when she beat Nikki Maciel, 6-0, 6-1. The Redhawks, who again played with only four players, lost in the next three singles positions and were forced to surrender the No. 5 and No. 6 bouts.
Robinson had a hand in another win for Southeast on the day when she teamed up with
Jessica Courtnell in No. 1 doubles. Robinson and Courtnell defeated Sandra Kancheva and Maciel, 8-3. Catherine Holliday and Natalia Nunes then beat
Lauren Schaper and
Sarah Uptmor, 8-0, at No. 2. The Bruins secured the doubles point after Southeast didn't compete at the No. 3 spot.
The Redhawks honored seniors Courtnell, Uptmor and
Nikole Novikova prior to today's match. Southeast finished its 2013 season with an overall record of 4-11 and 1-9 in Ohio Valley Conference play.
