Setting the Table
The Southeast Missouri baseball team heads to in-state rival Missouri State (14-6) for a Wednesday afternoon contest at Hammons Stadium in Springfield. The Redhawks will head back to Cape Girardeau for a three game set with UT Martin on Thursday through Saturday at Capaha Field. Southeast Freshman
Tyler Thomas (1-0) is slated to get the start after earning his first career win last Saturday.
Redhawks Against Missouri State
The Bears own a 62-38 overall record against the Redhawks. The bears defeated the Redhawks 8-1 last season at Capaha Field on March 20, 2012. Luke Voit paced the Bear's offense going 3-for-5 with an RBI and run scored.
OVC Co-Player of the Week
Southeast Missouri sophomore third baseman
Andy Lennington was named Adidas Ohio Valley Conference Co-Player of the Week Monday afternoon by the league office. It is the first time in his career that he has garnered the award. He finished the week with a .444 batting average as he recorded eight hits with two doubles, two triples and one home run. He also recorded a stellar slugging percentage of .944.
Andy Lennington tied a school record and Ohio Valley Conference Record with two triples last Friday afternoon at Morehead State. The last time a Redhawk recorded two triples in a game was March 11, 2003 as Justin Christian did it against Missouri.

Bobby Hurst is fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference is saves with three on the season He has also recorded a 2-0 record. Hurst has thrown 10.2 innings on the season and has an ERA of 0.84. He is tied for ninth all-time in career saves at Southeast with five.
Preseason OVC Polls
The Southeast Missouri Baseball team was picked eighth in the Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Poll. Austin Peay, the OVC Co-Regular season and tournament champions in back-to-back seasons were picked to win the league with 14 first place votes. Southeast Missouri junior left fielder
