Final Results

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri (0-1) dropped its season-opener to Arkansas State (2-1), 6-1, Saturday afternoon at the Drury Plaza Conference Center.

Southeast scored its only point in singles action when Jessica Courtnell defeated Ioana Teu, 6-3, 6-0, at the No. 3 position. Heather Robinson and Tamara Slijepcevic also went three sets in No. 1 singles, but Slijepcevic held on for a 4-6, 6-0, 10-3 victory.

Nikole Novikova teamed up with Robinson to beat Janie Nowland and Teu, 9-8, at the top doubles spot before ASU won the point.

Southeast returns to action when it hosts Rend Lake College on Feb. 23.
