Redhawks and Salukis Set For Mid-Week Contest at Capaha Field

Kenton Parmley is riding a 40-game hitting streak that is tied for 10th all-time in NCAA history.

Senior Kenton Parmley moved to third all-time in career hits at Southeast Missouri over the weekend with 266 in his career.

Head coach Mark Hogan is three wins away for 900 wins in his career. Hogan has coached at the NJCAA (Lurleen B. Wallace), NCAA Division II (West Alabama) and NCAA Division I level (Southeast). Hogan has 512 wins at Southeast Missouri. Hogan collected his 500th career win against Eastern Illinois last season on May 20, 2011.In 2007, he passed Southeast legendary coach Joe Uhls as the schools all-time wins leader.

Going Streaking
Senior Shortstop Kenton Parmley is currently riding a 40-game hitting streak that dates back to last season. Parmley's streak is currently tied for 10th all-time in NCAA history. He is two games away from tying the OVC record of 42-games by Austin Peay's Chuck Abbott, which was set in 1996  He broke former major leaguer Kerry Robinson's school record of 35 games in 1995 on Sunday against EIU as he earned a hit in his final at-bat of the contest. Parmley has extended his hitting streak in his first at-bat 16 times. He currently ranks four in the country in hits with 53 on the season.

    Senior Trenton Moses has now reached base safely in a school record 53-straight contest that dates back to last season. Moses, who currently sports .557 on-base percentage, which leads the nation. Moses snapped his 18-game hitting streak on Saturday.
   Junior Derek Gibson is currently riding a 17-game hitting streak that started against Arkansas-Little Rock, a contest in which he hit his first career home run. He hit his third home run of the season last Tuesday.

Baseball Tailgate
The first tailgate is presented by Bluff City Beer Company on Tuesday against rival Southern Illinois. The game against the Salukis also features TOMS One Day without Shoes as the Redhawks partner with TOMS at Southeast. Fans are encouraged to come to the game barefoot and donate a pair of lightly worn shoes.
