MOREHEAD, Ky. – Southeast Missouri senior third baseman
Trenton Moses was 5-for-5 with two home runs tying his career-high in hits in the Redhawks 16-14 loss to Morehead State Sunday afternoon in Morehead, Ky. Moses has now reached base safely in a school record 57-straight games.
Kenton Parmley extended his hitting streak to 44-games with a triple in his first at-bat as he has extended his streak in his first at-bat 18 times.
Southeast drops to 11-26 overall and 3-9 in the Ohio Valley Conference as the Eagles improve to 21-15 and 7-5 in the league.
The Redhawks opened the game with five extra base hits with three doubles, a triple and one home run.
Parmley opened the contest with a triple to centerfield. He would then come around to score on a towering home run to right centerfield from
Derek Gibson as he extended his hitting streak to 21-games.

Ryan Barnes added three straight doubles as Southeast jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after the first frame.
The Redhawks extended their lead to 6-0 in the second inning as Moses pounded his 13
th home run of the season to centerfield, the two-run shot was his first home run since Arkansas State on March 27.
Starter
Ryan Kendall ran into control issues in the fourth inning and was later replaced by
Dylan Lynn as the Eagles tied the contest with six runs in the frame. Andrew Deeds the MSU leader in hits delivered a three-run double to right center field to highlight the frame.
Southeast responded in the fifth inning with a three-run home run from Moses, his second home run of the game and 14
th of the season as Southeast took the lead 9-6.
Another big inning by the Eagles gave them their first lead of the contest at 11-9 in the fifth inning as they scored five runs in the frame. MSU hit three doubles in the inning as the Redhawks used three pitchers in the frame.
Southeast took the lead back at 12-11 in the top of the seventh when they plated three runs.
Kody Campbell delivered an RBI single followed by a two-run single from
Jason Blum as Southeast looked to be in control.
Morehead State then added five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to take a 16-12 lead with closer Matt Duncan in the ball game for the Eagles.
Southeast cut into the lead a pair of runs in the inning in a late comeback effort, but Duncan got pinch hitter
Cody Spanberger and Parmely to fly out in deep centerfield as Morehead State took the contest, 16-14.
Moses was 5-for-5 for the second time this season adding five RBI and four runs. He was 5-for-5 earlier this season at Wright State on March 9.
Parmley was 3-for-6 with three runs scored as he remains fifth all-time in NCAA history with his 44-game hitting streak. Parmley is one game away from tying Roger Schmuck, Arizona State (1996), who hit in 45-games.
Jason Blum was 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored. Gibson added two hits to go along with two runs and two RBI.
Zerrusen (1-1) picked up the loss for Southeast as the Redhawks used six pitchers on the day.
Duncan (2-0) got the win throwing 1.2 innings. Duncan, who allowed only nine hits on the season coming into the contest gave up three hits and two runs.
The Redhawks return to action Tuesday at 5:00 p.m., CT. against Arkansas State at Capaha Field.
