TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Southeast Missouri (5-11, 2-6) came up short in a 5-2 loss to Eastern Illinois (9-9, 5-3) Saturday afternoon at the Wabash Valley Tennis Center.
Saturday's match, which was initially scheduled to be played in Charleston, Ill., was moved indoors due to inclement weather.
Southeast was victorious in No. 4 and No. 5 singles, with
Melissa Martin and
Heather Robinson scoring points. Martin defeated Jennifer Kim, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 4, while Robinson took care of Sephora Boulbahaiem, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 5.
Jessica Courtnell and Robinson defeated Kim and Boulbahaiem, 8-3, in No. 2 doubles, but the Redhawks surrendered the point when they lost, 8-4, at No. 1 and, 8-5, at No. 3.
Southeast wraps up its season at SIU Edwardsville Sunday.
