JONESBORO, Ark. - The Southeast Missouri baseball team dropped a 10-5 decision Tuesday evening against Sun Belt Conference leader Arkansas State in the rivals first of two meetings this season.
The Redhawks drop to 7-19 overall after the contest as the Red Wolves improve to 14-10 on the season.
“I feel like we are right there just waiting to break through,” said head coach Mark Hogan.

Kenton Parmley opened the game with a hit on the very first pitch of the contest as he extended his hitting streak to 33 games and his reaching base safely streak to 42 games.
Parmley later scored when he stole home plate after the catcher threw the ball back to the pitcher to give the Redhawks the 1-0 lead.
Arkansas State added six runs in the second inning. ASU's Anthony Hecht highlighted the inning with a three-run double to left centerfield as the Red Wolves took a 6-1 lead.
The Redhawks added a run in the third inning on an
Andy Lennington RBI single to make it 6-2.
Southeast later cut the lead to 6-5 on a three-run homer off the bat of the nation's leader in home runs
Trenton Moses, his 12
th blast of the season.

The Redhawks failed to add any more runs in the contest as the Red Wolves added three runs in the fifth inning and one run in the sixth frame taking the contest 10-5.
The loss marks the Redhawks ninth in a row, breaking the school record of eight that was set in 1992.
Four Southeast players had multi-hit contest with Parmley, Moses, Lennington and
Kody Campbell adding a pair of hits.
“We had several guys contribute offensively for us tonight to go along with our bright spots on the mound” said Hogan.
Moses was 2-for-4 on the night with three RBI. He extended his hitting streak to 17 games and his reaching base safely streak to 46 contests.
Parmley was 2-for-5 on the evening with a run scored.
Gibson extended his hitting streak to 10 games adding a run scored in the contest.
Freshman
Cody Spanberger (0-1) picked up the loss throwing 1.2 innings with six earned runs on only two hits with five walks.
Tony Zerrusen threw two innings of relief along with
Trevor Kill.
Ryan Prickett also saw time out of the Redhawk bullpen for the first time since March 9
th at Wright State.
Grant Davis also pitched a scoreless inning for the second straight contest.
Collin Massanelli was the only ASU player with a multi-hit game going 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored.
The Redhawks hit the road for their first Ohio Valley Conference road trip of the season as Southeast heads to Eastern Illinois this weekend to take on the Panthers.
