Heather Robinson posted her second-straight singles victory, but Southeast Missouri (3-8, 0-3) fell to Murray State (7-7, 2-0), 6-1, Sunday afternoon in Ohio Valley Conference action at the Redhawks Tennis Complex.
Robinson, who has won eight of her last 10 singles bouts, defeated Carolyn Huerth, 6-3, 6-1, at the No. 5 spot. The victory earned Southeast's only point of the day and marked Robinson's sixth in that position of the Redhawks lineup.
Elizabeth Nyenwe and
Melissa Martin also fared well in singles action. Both lost in three sets, with Nyenwe falling, 6-3, 1-6, 6-1, to Ashley Canty at No. 2 and Martin losing, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, to Carla Suga at No. 4.
Robinson and
Jessica Courtnell defeated Suga and Huerth, 8-5, in No. 2 doubles, but the Racers won the point.
Southeast, which has lost three in a row, hits the road to face Tennessee State on Mar. 31.
