JACKSON, Tenn. – Brad LaBruyere was just one pitch shy of the Ohio Valley Conference tournament record, as he threw 159 pitches in Southeast Missouri's 6-1 victory over Tennessee Tech. LaBruyere kept Southeast alive in the tournament and they will play tomorrow at noon against the loser of Austin Peay and Jacksonville State.

LaBruyere gave up just one run on 12 hits, while striking out nine batters in 8.2 innings. He walked just two Golden Eagles.

Tim Rupp led the offense with two hits and two RBI. His biggest hit of the game came when he launched a two run home run to left field. Ky Burgess had two RBI on his home run to left center, his lone hit of the game. Casey Jones led the team with two runs scored, while driving in one run on one hit. Michael Adamson and Trenton Moses each had one hit and two walks in the game.

Senior Brad LaBruyere kept the Tennessee Tech offense off the board for 8.2 innings, while his offense built a lead with four runs in the fourth inning.

Michael Adamson led off with a double to left center and Trenton Moses singled to right center, moving Adamson to third. Brett Russell loaded the bases for Casey Jones by getting pelted with a full count pitch. Casey Jones drove in Adamson with a fielder's choice ground out, retiring Russell on the play. Blake Slattery was the second out of the inning on a sacrifice bunt, but Moses would score the second run of the inning. With two out and one on, Ky Burgess unloaded on an 0-and-1 pitch over the wall in left center, extending the Redhawk lead to 4-0.

Tennessee Tech had a chance to plate two runs in the fifth inning when they had two on and two out for Zach Stephens. He lined a ball to the wall in right field, but Nick Harris made a great catch as he crashed into the wooden wall in the corner, ending the inning.

Southeast added two more runs in the sixth inning.

Casey Jones led off the inning with a double to left center field and moved to third on Blake Slattery's ground out. With two outs, Tim Rupp launched a two run home run over the left field wall, putting the Redhawks on top 6-0.

The Redhawks had a chance to extend the lead in the top of the seventh inning with bases loaded and no outs, but relief pitcher Jared Dobbs struck out two and got an inning ending fly out.

LaBruyere was just one pitch away from earning the complete game, but Ben Burgess doubled off the left field wall to break up the shutout and end his day on the mound. Trent Wise came in relief and needed just four pitches to secure the win.
