DAYTON, Ohio –
Three Redhawks scored in double figures with two nearly recording double-doubles, but Central Michigan hit 15 three-pointers to send the Southeast Missouri State women's basketball team to a 100-59 loss in the opening game of the Wright State Holiday Invitational on Sunday afternoon.

Bailie Roberts and Allyson Bradshaw each scored 11 points while Brittany Harriel added 10 more for the Redhawks (2-9). Harriel also grabbed nine rebounds, finishing one shy of her third career double-double. Patricia Mack led Southeast with a game-high 10 rebounds and scored a season-high nine points to conclude her effort one point shy of her first double-double since 2010.

“We started the game with too many unforced turnovers,” Southeast head coach Ty Margenthaler said. “We have to learn from them and bounce back. Patricia gave us real good energy off the bench individually, but as a team we need to put forth a better effort.”

Karley Evans hit a three-pointer to open the second half, cutting a 22-point halftime deficit to 49-30. However, Central jumped up by 27 (57-30) with eight consecutive points. The deficit reached 30 points with 7:52 remaining. CMU led by as many as 44 points in the second half.

The Chippewas (5-5) scored the first seven points of the game on a pair of Crystal Bradford baskets and a three-pointer by Jordan LaDuke. Harriel got the Redhawks on the board a little over four and a half minutes in to make it a 7-2 ballgame. A Bianca Beck layup cut the deficit to three points, but CMU countered with 16-straight points to open up a 23-4 advantage at the 10:33 mark.

CMU stretched the lead to 28-7 past the halfway point of the opening frame, but Southeast was able to claw to within 13 by outscoring Central by a 16-8 count over the next five minutes. Roberts and Bradshaw were the key factors in the surge, combining for 13 of the Redhawks' 16 points in that stretch.

The Chippewas hit three more trifectas towards the end of the first half to fuel a 16-4 run over the final 4:18 in the opening stanza to take a 49-27 lead into the locker room.

CMU made 48.6 percent of its shots while Southeast countered with 32.3 percent shooting. The Chippewas made 15-of-29 three-point attempts (51.7 percent) and the Redhawks hit 5-of-22 (22.7 percent) from long range. Southeast held a 47-41 advantage in rebounding, but committed a season-high 31 turnovers compared to only 14 Central miscues.

The Redhawks resume their tournament schedule on Monday when they take on host Wright State. Opening tipoff is at 11:00 a.m. CT.
