Quick Hits
About Central Michigan – The Chippewas are 4-5 in their non-conference slate, though posted an upset victory over then-No. 12 Purdue (75-62) in Mount Pleasant, Mich., last Sunday. CMU is averaging 71.7 points per game while yielding 72.4 points for contest. Three players are averaging double figures, all freshmen, led by Crystal Bradford's 15.0 points per game and supported by Jessica Green's 12.2 and Jas'Mine Bracey's 11.1 scoring averages.

About Wright State – The Raiders boast a 5-4 record and are an unblemished 3-0 at home this season. WSU averages 68.4 points per game and holds teams to 67.1 points per game. Two Wright State players average double figures, Kim Demmings (15.8 points per game) and Molly Fox (13.1 points per game). Fox also averages 9.5 rebounds per game.

Last Meeting – Jan. 23, 1982 (Southeast 90, Wright State 55).

About Longwood – The Lancers are 2-7 thus far, dropping six straight games between a pair of victories and falling to Marshall (62-48) on Thursday. LU averages 51.3 points per game and is led offensively by Brittani Billups (10.8 points per game). The Lancers allow 67.4 points per game and have given up 70 or more points four times this season.

Well Traveled Redhawks – Southeast has spent the vast majority of its non-conference slate checking into and out of hotels. Ten of the Redhawks' 13 non-conference games are away from the Show Me Center. The season began with a three-game trip at NC State, Saint Louis and Illinois-Chicago. Two home games were sandwiched around Southeast's Thanksgiving trip to UAB for a two-game tournament and the non-league schedule concludes with this week's tournament at Wright State. The end of the tournament will conclude a stretch where Southeast played five of six games away from the Show Me Center.

Evans' Breakthrough – Senior guard Karley Evans erupted offensively over the last four games, contributing three double-digit scoring efforts, in her last four games with two of those efforts leading to Southeast victories. Against Arkansas State, Evans scored a career-high 17 points while shooting 7-for-12 from the floor (3-for-6 from three). On Dec. 3, the Rock Port, Mo., native led Southeast with 15 points in and dished out three assists in a win over Lindenwood. She also tied a career-high with four three-point makes in the win. Evans tallied a team-best 10 points in last Saturday's contest at Western Michigan. The senior is averaging 10.8 points over her past four games after tallying no more than eight points with an average of 5.7 points per contest in the first six games.

Cleaning the Glass – Junior center Courtney Shiffer had a night to remember against Lindenwood on Dec. 3. The Freeport, Ill., native posted her first career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 17 rebounds. The rebounding total was more than double her previous career best of eight and is the most rebounds a Redhawk has grabbed in one game since Lachelle Lyles pulled in 21 rebounds against Samford on March 2, 2007.

Block Party – Junior Courtney Shiffer provided Southeast with a defensive presence in the post during her first season at Southeast. The Highland Community College transfer ranked third in the Ohio Valley Conference with 36 blocks. With 10 blocks on the season, Shiffer is now one block shy of Lachelle Lyles' career total of 47, which ranks 10th in school history.

Running Point – Senior guard Bianca Beck has moved on from a junior year that saw her struggle at the point. Through nine games, Beck has dished out a team-best 29 assists and a team-leading 1.07 assist to turnover ratio. She has also been a pleasant surprise on the glass, ranking fourth on the team averaging 4.8 rebounds per contest. She recorded her first career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds against Samford last Saturday. This is a welcome sign after a 2010-11 campaign that saw her commit 78 turnovers against only 44 assists. She has also scored in double figures three times this season, surpassing her total from a year ago.
