Southeast Missouri Signing Day Central
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Colin Ferguson, Jared White and C.J. Reese each signed national letters of intent to play basketball at Southeast Missouri in 2012-13.
"I'm excited about our early signing class," said Southeast head coach
Dickey Nutt. "We signed three very good high school players and that is important to us. We added two athletic guards with big bodies, and signed a talented center. Overall, we are pleased to have these guys join our program."
Ferguson and White are currently teammates at De Soto High School.
A 6'9”, 250-pound center, Ferguson averaged 10.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game as a junior last season. He also shot 52 percent from the field and comes to Southeast as a promising player with plenty of potential.
After a strong summer on the AAU circuit, Ferguson garnered interest from other schools like Southern Illinois-Carbondale and Murray State.
White, a 6'2”, 200-pound combo guard, averaged 19.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.9 steals last year. He shot 49 percent from the field and 35 percent from three-point range, as well.
Also a Division I football prospect, White was recruited by a number of Missouri Valley Conference schools in addition to Southeast.
Reese, a highly-touted 6'2”, 195-pound point guard, is from McCallie Prep School in Chattanooga, Tenn. He averaged 14.2 points, 4.8 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game last season. ESPN's college basketball recruiting website describes Reese as "a typical big-bodied guard who uses his strength and size to get by you. He is very good with the ball and gets into the lane. He is a good passer with good vision."
USC, South Carolina, Georgia, Clemson and Georgia Tech also recruited Reese.
