Gymhawks Travel to Iowa for Quad Meet Friday
SEMO Gymnastics will return to action on the road this week as they head to B1G member Iowa for a quad meet on Friday, March 6, in Iowa City, Iowa. The competition is slated to begin at 6 p.m., CT. from Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Who's There?
The Gymhawks will face a pair of familiar foes and a new opponent on Friday evening as Central Michigan (MAC) and Northern Illinois (MAC) will also compete against SEMO and Iowa. SEMO has faced CMU and NIU once each this season as the Gymhawks hosted CMU In the first meet of the season resulting in a 194.750-192.800 CMU win. The Gymhawks then traveled to DeKalb, Illinois where they defeated Northern Illinois by a 193.900-191.700 margin to win their sixth-straight meet. The Gymhawks and Iowa will meet for the first time in 2026.
Senior Night Send Off
SEMO Gymnastics was last in action on Friday, February 27, as five Gymhawk seniors competed in their final meet in Cape Girardeau against Long Island. SEMO defeated the Long Islanders by a final score of 194.525-193.875 inside Houck Field House. Southeast Missouri State opened on vault with a solid performance, led by Ingle and Joselene Hernandez, both scoring 9.825. On uneven bars, the Redhawks continued their strong showing with Taylor Ingle and Ava Johnston each contributing a score of 9.725. The team maintained its pace on balance beam, where Jaidan Kossuth, Jordan Napolitano, Leah Parton, Nyah Reader, and Reagan Sams each scored 9.725. Closing on floor exercise, Ingle anchored the rotation with a 9.825, contributing to the Redhawks' final score of 194.525.

SEMO Gymnastics enters the weekend ranked 49th in the country according to road to nationals. The Gymhawks are ranked 40th on beam, 50th on bars, 55th on floor, and 56th on vault. This season, SEMO has turned in a season-high 194.850 on February 6 in Cape Girardeau. Iowa comes into the meet ranked 19th, followed by Central Michigan (33rd), and Northern Illinois (60th).
Four In a Row
Senior Taylor Ingle picked up her sixth Midwest Independent Conference (MIC) 'Gymnast of the Week' award of the season, the league announced on Wednesday morning.
For Ingle, the award marks the fourth-straight week she has garnered the league's top award after she won the all-around title last week against Long Island. Ingle turned in a 39.025 edging out LIU's Raphaelle Perreault (39.000) in what was Ingle's 23rd-straight all-around competition.
Taylor captured the event title on vault with a 9.825, bars with a 9.725, took eighth on beam (9.625), and tied for third on floor with another 9.825. The event title on vault marks her third-straight week capturing the vault title.
Bars Winner
Junior Ava Johnston captured her second event title on bars this season last Friday night against Long Island. The bars specialist turned in a 9.725 from the final spot of the lineup to claim the top spot on the podium, tying with her teammate Taylor ingle and Isabella Savino of Long Island. She recorded a season-high 9.875 on February 1 in Cape Girardeau.
Veteran on Bars
Senior Sydney Crouch competed in the bars lineup for the second time this season last Friday night. Crouch, a native of Coral Springs, Florida, turned in a season-high 9.450 in her final routine in Cape Girardeau.
Springfield, Mo.
Senior Kailyn Hamilton scored her best score on the vault this season last Friday night at Houck Field House. Hamilton, a native of Springfield, Mo., scored a 9.750 to finish tied for sixth on the apparatus. Hamitlon this season has two scores of 9.725 or higher and six scores of 9.650 or higher on the vault.
Career-High
Sophomore Joselene Hernandez turned in a career-high score on the vault last Friday against Long Island. The Perris, California-native scored a 9.825 which marked her highest score in two seasons in a Gymhawk leotard. She surpassed her previous high score of 9.750 that she scored twice this season already.
Kosssuuuuuuuuuth
Junior Jaidan Kossuth turned in a stellar performance on the floor last Friday night. Kossuth, from Queen Creek, Arizona, has been in the floor lineup seven times this season, including last Friday, and scored a best 9.850 to power the Gymhawks past LIU. Kossuth has two scores north of a 9.800 and six scores above 9.700.
