Redhawks Begin Homestand Thursday Versus Lindenwood
Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (5-10, 1-5 OVC) will begin a four-game homestand on Thursday, January 15, as they welcome in Lindenwood (12-5, 4-2 OVC) to Cape Girardeau. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m., CT. at the Show Me Center.Â

Thursday night is a big night inside the Show Me Center as the Redhawks welcome in their biggest rival for a pivotal matchup in OVC play. Fans attending Thursday's game will be able to receive a replica Redhawks hockey jersey courtesy of Window World. Thursday's game is also 'Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day'. Series History
The Redhawks and Lions will meet for the eighth time overall on Thursday night, and the seventh time since LU became a DI institution (2022-23). SEMO holds a 4-3 all-time series advantage lead over LU, including winning the first three games of the series in OVC action. LU has won the last three meetings, including sweeping the season series in 2024-25.Â

The Redhawks suffered their third-straight loss at Morehead State last Saturday (1/10) by a final score of 65-59. SEMO, who trailed 45-36 at the end of the third quarter, outscored the Eagles by a 23-20 mark in the final 10-minutes but it wasn't enough as MSU held on for their fifth-straight victory. Sophomore

Kearra Jones recorded the first double-double for the Redhawks this season against a Division I opponent. Jones recorded a SEMO career-high 18 points on 6-10 shooting, including 6-7 at the free throw line. She also hauled in 10 rebounds over 35 minutes played in Morehead. On the season, Jones is averaging 18.6 MPG, 7.9 PPG, and 5.2 RPG.Â

Carmen Taylor scored 14 points against Morehead State this past weekend, extending her double-digit point streak to four games. Taylor now has scored double digits in nine games this season and is amid her longest streak of the year. She is currently averaging 12.7 PPG and has scored 191 points in 15 games.Â

Fifth in Scoring
The Redhawks enter Thursday's contest with the fifth leading scoring offense in the Ohio Valley Conference. SEMO, who has scored 1,017 points on the season, is averaging 67.8 PPG over the first 15 games this season. The Redhawks sit just a point behind TTU (68.1) who are fourth in the league in scoring. Lindenwood is the league's second-highest scoring team, averaging 73.3 PPG.Â

Raissa Nsabua dished out five more assists on the road last Saturday at Morehead State. Nsabua, an Ottawa, Ontario-native, pushed her season total to 54 total assists through just 14 games played in 2025-26. She is tied for fourth in the OVC in assists per game, averaging 3.9 APG with Western Illinois' Kaylen Reed.Â

Ainaya Williams recorded a block in the second-straight game on Saturday afternoon. Through 15 games, Williams has now recorded 25 blocks and has at least one block in 13-of-15 games this season. She ranks second in the Ohio Valley Conference in blocks, trailing only Abbie Boutilier of EIU who has only played 12 games this season. Ainaya is averaging 1.7 BPG.Â

Carmen Taylor recorded three steals on Saturday afternoon against Morehead State and propelled herself to seventh in the OVC in steals. In 15 games, Taylor has recorded 28 steals and is averaging 1.9 SPG. She also extended her streak to 10-straight games with a steal dating all the way back to Thanksgiving. She leads the Redhawks in steals and steals per game.Â

Taylor also continues to lead this team in three-point field goals per game. The Memphis, Tenn.-native, continues to lead the Redhawks from behind the arc and is averaging 2.2 threes per game. She ranks fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference in threes per game and has nailed 33 on the season.Â

SEMO Women's Basketball has been improving from the free throw line all season long. Heading into Thursday's game, the Redhawks are shooting 72.1-percent at the foul line which ranks them sixth in the OVC. The Redhawks are 227-315 overall through 15 games, Western Illinois leads the league with a 78.5-percent clip at the stripe.Â
