Redhawks Set to Host 2025 SEMO Invitational Thursday-SaturdayÂ
Southeast Missouri Volleyball (3-3) will host the 2025 SEMO Invitational this Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 11-13, marking the first home matches of the campaign. The Redhawks will open the tournament on Thursday against Iowa (6 p.m.) before playing Weber State on Friday (6 p.m.) and wrapping up the tournament against Murray State (3 p.m.) on Saturday afternoon. All three matches will take place at Houck Field House and you can buy tickets,Â

Series History
Iowa
The 'Battle of the Hawks' between the Redhawks & Hawkeyes will take place for the second time in program history on Thursday evening. SEMO and Iowa have met just one time previous at the 2012 Hawkeye Invitational where the Redhawks downed the B1G conference member, 3-2, in Iowa City, Iowa. Southeast Missouri leads the series, 1-0.Â
Weber State
The Redhawks and Wildcats will face off for the fourth time in the series on Friday evening inside Houck Field House. Weber State holds a 3-0 advantage in the series.Â

Murray State
Another chapter in a long rivalry between SEMO and Murray State will take place on Saturday afternoon. The Redhawks will meet former longtime Ohio Valley Conference rival, Murray State, for the 93
rd time in volleyball and the first time since 2021. The Redhawks won that match, 3-1, and hold a 58-34 series advantage over the Racers.Â

Indiana Invitational
The Redhawks wrapped up their second non-conference tournament last weekend at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, Indiana. SEMO finished the tournament with a 2-1 record, losing the first match of the tournament to Indiana (0-3) before they defeated Western Michigan and Northern Kentucky in five sets each. Marin Johnson both landed on the all-tournament team after breakout performances.Â

OVC Freshman of the Week
Outside hitter
Katy St. John picked up her first Ohio Valley Conference weekly award on Monday afternoon. St. John, a native of Jackson, Mo., continued her stellar start to her collegiate volleyball career this past weekend at the Indiana Invitational where she was named to the All-Tournament team following the conclusion of the tournament. The freshman started in all 13 sets over the three-match weekend and recorded back-to-back career high kills in the Friday matches against Western Michigan and Northern Kentucky with 15 kills in in both matches. She finished the weekend with 37 total kills on 74 total attacks for a .365 hitting-percentage. She committed just 10 attack errors while averaging 2.85 kills-per-set. St. John finished the invitational with 39.5 points over three matches, averaging 3.04 points-per-set.

Arndt Tracker
Junior outside hitter
Lucy Arndt finished the Indiana Invitational with 40 kills, including back-to-back matches with double-digit kills against Western Michigan (13) and Northern Kentucky (19), respectively. She now has 78 kills on the season, bringing her career total to 961. She needs just 39 more kills to reach 1,000 career kills.Â

Sophomore outside hitter
Marin Johnson had a great tournament in Indiana this past weekend, landing on the all-tournament team for the first time this season. Johnson finished with 30 total kills and a .274 hitting-percentage. She recorded double-digit kills in the final two matches of the invitational including a season-high 13 kills against Northern Kentucky.Â

Redshirt junior
Ramiri Gardner made a big impact in the final match of the Indiana Invitational, making her first start of the season against Northern Kentucky. The middle blocker from St. Peters, Mo. recorded a season-high 12 kills, on 26 attacks, with just three errors for a .346 hitting-percentage. She also chipped in a pair of block assists, finishing with 2.0 total blocks.Â

Double Double
Lucy Arndt concluded last weekend with back-to-back double-double performances against Western Michigan and Northern Kentucky. She finished with 13 kills and 15 digs against WMU and 19 kills and 15 more digs against NKU. Her 19 kills against NKU marked a season-high through six games. She now has four double doubles on the season.

Alandry Below has been a staple on the court for the Redhawks through the first six matches of the season. Below has dished out 88 total assists to Redhawk hitters, including a career-high 28 assists against Northern Kentucky in the final match last weekend. Below has played in 22 sets for the Redhawks and defensively has yet to commit a reception error.Â

Junior libero
Nina Schuberth has been a staple on the backline and the service line for the Redhawks this season. Schuberth, who is the all-time single-season record holder for service aces, has a team-high eight aces through six matches. She is averaging 0.35 aces-per-set.Â

Libero
Schuberth also continues her stellar performance defensively for the Redhawks. The reigning 2024 Ohio Valley Conference 'Defensive Player of the Year' leads the team with 81 digs through six games. She is averaging 3.52 digs-per-set a near full dig more than her next closest teammate (Arndt, 2.65). Offensively, Schuberth has also dished out 25 assists, averaging 1.09 assists-per-set.Â

Redshirt senior
Avery Torrey has been a steady performer through the first six matches of the season on the right side of the net. Torrey has recorded 32 total kills on the season on 93 total attacks, for a .286 hitting-percentage. She has also chipped in 9.0 total blocks which ties her with teammate
Kara Oxenknecht for second-most on the squad. She has played in all 23 sets this season for the Redhawks.Â

Through six matches, SEMO Volleyball has recorded 295 kills on 829 total attacks. With just 99 errors, the Redhawks are hitting .236 as a team and are averaging 12.83 kills-per-set. From the setters, the Redhawks have dished out 275 assists for a .320 assist-percentage and an average of 11.96 assists-per-set, led by
Megan Holder with 115 assists.Â
