#4 Redhawks Season Concludes with Loss in Semifinal Round Monday Night

CHARLESTON, Ill. — Southeast Missouri Volleyball (21-13, 12-6 OVC) fell to Eastern Illinois (23-7, 15-3 OVC) in a close four-set match on Monday at Gardella Family Court at McAfee Gym, with final scores of 21-25, 25-23, 24-26, 22-25.

Southeast Missouri recorded 13 total blocks as the season comes to a close in the 2025 OVC Semifinal round on Monday night. 

First Set  
- Destiny Walker opened the scoring for the Panthers with a kill assisted by Catalina Rochaix.  
- Southeast Missouri gained momentum with a 5-1 run, featuring kills by Reagan Nelson and Kara Oxenknecht.  
- The Panthers responded with a 6-0 run, including two consecutive service aces by Tori Mohesky, to take the lead.  
- The Panthers secured the set 25-21, with Lilli Amettis delivering the final point on a kill from Rochaix.  

Second Set  
- SEMO gained early momentum with a kill from Alaina Lester and a service ace by Reagan Nelson, taking a 5-2 lead.  
- The Panthers responded with a series of blocks and kills, including contributions from Lilli Amettis and Destiny Walker, leveling the score at 10-10.  
- A strong performance by the Redhawks included a service ace from Alandry Below and blocks by Kara Oxenknecht and Marin Johnson, extending their lead to 20-16.  
- Reagan Nelson secured the set for Southeast Missouri with a kill from Megan Holder, closing it out at 25-23.  

Third Set  
- Reagan Nelson delivered a kill early to tie the score at 1-1, assisted by Megan Holder.  
- Alandry Below's service ace put SEMO ahead 3-2, sparking a 4-0 run.  
- The Panthers rallied back, with Emma Schroeder's kill leveling the match at 9-9.  
- Despite a late push from the Redhawks, the Panthers secured the set 26-24.  

Fourth Set  
- The Panthers began with a 2-0 lead as Lilli Amettis delivered a kill assisted by Catalina Rochaix.  
- SEMO rallied to tie the score at 4-4, highlighted by two consecutive kills from Katherine St. John.  
- The Panthers responded with a 3-0 run, including a service ace by Laura Paniagua, extending their lead to 7-4.  
- Despite the Redhawks' efforts, the Panthers maintained control, closing the set 25-22 with Katie Kopshever's kill.
