LOUISVILLE, Mo. - Noah Little led the Redhawks as Southeast Missouri track & field finished up day one of the Clark Wood Open with 24 top 20 finishes with eight being top five marks.
Day two of the meet is slated for a 10:00 a.m. start with the men's discus and wrap up with the men's 4x400m relay at 6:25 p.m.
Alone at the Top
Little crossed the finish line at 14:30.75 to take the trophy in the men's 500m race, besting 77 other athletes, ranking for 10th in the SEMO record books.
Top Five Marks
In the men's hammer throw
Paden Lewis and
Clay Alewelt recorded marks of 199' 07" and 192' 00" for third and fourth.
Molly Grohmann cleared a height of 18' 08" to take fifth in the women's high jump.
After the men's shot put was over Lewis achieved a season best throw of 60' 2.50" for the silver medal.
Kennedy Zgaynor chalked up a fifth place finish in the javelin with a throw of 136' 00".
Sullivan Gleason grabbed the silver medal after vaulting over a height of 16' 7.25" in the pole vault.
With a mark of 183' 10"
Josiah Kilgore was second highest on the podium in the Javelin.
Top Ten Redhawks
Greg Dennis jumped over a height of 6' 0.75" for ninth in the men's high jump.
With a jump of 18' 1.50",
Anna Thomason notched ninth place in the high jump.
Laila Hardin jumped over hurdles for 400m in a time of 1:00.53 for seventh.
Marcus Gordon cleared the finish line at 54.01 for 10th in the men's 400m hurdles.
Luke Hatfield Jackson cleared 23' 4.50" of sand for ninth in the men's long jump.
In the women's shot put
Bailie Hux and
Andreese Ortiz earned distances of 42' 11" and 41' 10.75" for sixth and ninth.
Noteworthy Performances
Hux placed 11th with a 161' 02" throw while
Baylee Beard placed 17th after a throw of 154' 06".
Cole Reinders clocked in at 1:52.63 for 12th and
Tyler Anderson finished with a time of 1:53.65 (19th) and
Trey Mygatt ended with a PR time of 1:54.94 (27th) in the men's 800m.
With a mark of 52' 02" in the hammer throw
Clay Alewelt placed 11th.
Sydney Burdine finished with a time of 24.53 for 20th after the 200m dash was over.
Brooklyn Bender timed in at 18:09.55 for a new personal best and 17th place in the 5000m race.
In the women's javelin
Ava Dumke placed 11th after a mark of 118' 10".
The men's long jump saw
Cole Bruenderman and
Aarion Jackson jump for distances of 22' 10.75" (12th) and 22' 8.50" (16th).
Beard posted a mark of 39' 10.75" for 14th in the shot put.
