MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Brianna Dixon and
Anna Thomason broke SEMO records in their respective events as the Redhawks ended the Memphis Invite. Southeast ended day two of the meet with 37 top ten marks with 13 top three performances and nine new personal records.
New Records
Brianna Dixon cleared a height of 5' 10.75" in the women's high jump breaking the old SEMO record height of 5' 10.5" which she broke last outdoor season.
Anna Thomason jumped over hurdles for 100m in a time of 13.54 for first and a new SEMO record, breaking the old record of 13.6 held by her teammate
Brianna Dixon.
On Top
Haley Smith stood atop the podium in the women's 5000-meter race crossing the finish line in 19:28.02.
Once again
Paden Lewis claimed the gold medal in the men's shot put. Lewis threw to the distance of 60' 3.50" to beat 12 other throwers. Lewis also claimed gold in the discus with a new PR mark of 182' 5".
Medal Performances
Both the men and women's 4x100 relay team placed second. The women's team featured
Anna Thomason,
Sydney Burdine,
Leanza Dwaah, and
Alaina Lester finishing with a time of 45.85. The men's team saw
Connor Moore,
Cole Bruenderman, Aaron Jackson, and
Dominic Revels finish at 42.27.
The women's high jump saw
Molly Grohmann and Thomason take the silver and bronze with jumps of 5' 7" and 5' 5".
Andreese Ortiz took second and
Makenzie Williams placed third in the women's discus with distances of 161' 5" (PR) and 159' 7.00".
The men's 4x400m squad of Revels, Moore, Primeau and
Micah Grawer timed in at 3:32.19.
Clay Alewelt chalked up a second place finish with a final distance of 171' 0" in the discus.
Top Ten Marks
In the women's shot, Ortiz placed fourth with a mark of 42' 1.00" and
Bailie Hux placed fifth getting to the distance of 41' 6.50".
The freshman Greg Dennis notched a jump of 6' 2.75" in the men's high jump to finish in sixth.
Jehchys Brown, Alwelt, and
Quinton Maxwell competed in the men's shot put. Brown, the freshman, recorded a new personal best placing fifth with a mark of 52' 1.50", Alwelt finished in eighth place getting to the distance of 49' 7.00", and Maxwell placed 10th (47' 9.50").
In the 400m dash
Laila Hardin placed sixth (57.51) and Lester took eighth place (58.18) and a new PR.
With the eighth place finish,
Jake Casey recorded a time of 16.58 in the 110-meter hurdles.
The men's 800-meter race saw
Micah Grawer (1:54.72, PR) and
Louis Primeau (1:59.07) post fourth and seventh place finishes.
Burdine crossed the line at 24.43 to take sixth in the 200m.
In the women's 100-meter Hurdles Dixon,
Clara Billing,
Megan Aubuchon,
Tayler Gudde, and
Kendall Holweg placed fourth (14.01), sixth (14.35), seventh (14.73), ninth (15.96, PR), and 10th (17.25).
With times of 12.04, 12.18, 12.20, and 12.67 Dwaah finished in fifth, Lester sixth, Burdine eighth, and Dixon 12th (PR) in the women's 100-meter dash.
Bruenderman triple jumped for a final distance of 48' 2.75" for sixth and a new PR.
In the men's discus Brown achieved a new personal record (4th, 167' 3"), Maxwell placed 10th (146' 2") and
Luis Schadlich also claimed a new PR mark of 126' 0" (14th).

Redhawks will be split next weekend at the Billy Hayes Invite in Bloomington, Ind. and the Arkansas Twilight in Fayetteville, Ark.
