
Redhawks Take on the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite Friday and Saturday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Redhawks are back on the road as they take on the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite Feb. 7-8, at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Neb.
The Meet is scheduled to start at 11:45 a.m., CT with the heptathlon 60m dash and will wrap up day one with the women's 400m at 7:35 p.m.
Saturday's events will commence at 10:00 a.m. with heptathlon 60m hurdles and end at 4:45 p.m. with the women's 4x400m relay race.
Records Broken
Anna Thomason broke the pentathlon record at Indiana Early Bird Invite then broke it again at the Dr. Rick McGuire Invite. The junior broke her own record of 3643 points with a new point total of 3734. During the pentathlon she also broke the SEMOM 60m hurdle record with a time of 8.50, breaking the former record of 8.61 set by Brianna Dixon at the 2024 OVC Championship.
Nick Cimmarusti crossed the line at 8:33.92 to break the SEMO Student Recreation center 3000m record at the Redhawks Invite. The record was previously held by Nick Happe of Arizona State with a time of 8:38:00.
At the Dr. Rick McGuire Invite Noah Little and Cimmarusti both broke the 3000m record of 8:17.40 set by Brian Radle in 1989. Little set the new record with an 8:16.08 while Cimmarusti finished with an ending time of 8:16.58.
Paden Lewis threw for a mark of 61' 1.5" at the Dr. Rick McGuire Invite to set a new SEMO record in shot put, breaking the previous record of 60' 11.25" set by Josh Uchtman in 2012.

At the end of the indoor track season the top 16 performers from each event make it to the NCAA Indoor Championship. The sport is broken up into nine regions, SEMO is in the Midwest Region which includes all the Division One schools from Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois.
Southeast has 13 marks ranked in the top 50 of the country, 16 marks ranked in the top 25 of the Midwest Region, 15 marks ranked first in the OVC and 50 marks in the top five in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Kenyon Johnson ranks twelveth in the region in the long jump with a distance of 24' 4.25" and 41st nationally, sixth in the region, and first in OVC in triple jump with a mark of 50' 8.25", achieving these marks at the Redhawks Invite and Indiana Early Bird Meet.
Paden Lewis threw for distances of 61' 1.5" and 74' 6.25" in the shot put and weight throw to rank 32nd and ninth in the NCAA, ninth and third in the Midwest region and first in the OVC in both events. The senior achieved the shot put at the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational and the weight throw at the Show-Me Showdown.

The multis athlete posted this mark at the Indiana Early Bird Meet, Dec. 13th. Thomason also has a time of 8.50 in the 60m hurdles, ranking 15th in the region and first in the OVC.
In the men's and women's 55m Dominic Revels ranks seventh (6.32), Cole Bruenderman 26th (6.46), and Breanna Miles 12th (7.18) in the NCAA. They all achieved this at the Redhawks Invite, Jan. 11th.
In the men's and women's 55m hurdles Marcus Gordon ranks 23rd (7.82), Luis Schadlich ranks 30th (7.97), Thomason ranks fourth (8.13), Brianna Dixon ranks eighth (8.22), Megan Aubuchon ranks 24th (8.57), and Clara Billing ranks 26th (8.59). They all achieved this Jan. 11th at the Redhawks Invite.
Cole Reinders ranks first in the OVC in the 800m with a time of 1:51.39.
Revels ranks 19th in the Midwest region in the 60m with a time of 6.80.
Miles ranks first in the conference in the 60m, crossing the line at 7.60. The senior also posted a time of 24.20 in the 200-meter for 11th in the region and first in the OVC.
Erika Mellor has a time of 2:13.60 in the 800-meter to be ranked first in the OVC.
In the men's 5000m rankings Nick Cimmarusti ranks first in the OVC and fifteenth regionally (14:29.72).
In the women's 4x400 Breanna Miles, Sydney Burdine, Erika Mellor, and Laila Hardin are ranked 20th in the region with a time of 3:51.83.
The distance medley relay team of Cole Reinders, Louis Primeau, Justin Splitt, and Byron Sowerby ranks sixth in the Midwest region with a time of 10:15.86, achieving that time at the Crossroads of America Invitational.
The distance medley relay team of Lauren Eftink, Mattea Pearsall, Laila Hardin, and Layla Fliege ranks eighth in the region and first in the conference with a time of 12:24.08.
Aarion Jackson is ranked 20th in the Midwest region in long jump, jumping a distance of 23' 10.25".
Molly Grohmann and Brianna Dixon cleared a height of 5' 7" to be ranked first in the conference in the high jump.
Tanner Koontz vaulted over a height of 16' 6.5" to be ranked 19th in the region and first in the OVC and Sullivan Gleason ranks 20th regionally (16' 4.75").
Billing cleared a height of 13' 1.5" to rank 19th in the Midwest region and first in the OVC in the pole vault.
Makenzie Williams is ranked first in the OVC in women's weight throw with a distance of 60' 1".
Athletes Of The Week
Lewis notched OVC Male Field Athlete of the Week every week this season, making this his fifth award. The senior broke the SEMO shot put record with a throw of 61' 1.5", ranking first in the OVC and 32nd in the NCAA. The Missouri native also threw for a distance of 70' 6.25", ranking fourth in the SEMO record books and second in the OVC behind only himself.

The junior placed third in the pentathlon with 3734 total points, breaking the SEMO record again, ranking first in the OVC and 46th in the NCAA. During the event she also broke the SEMO 60m Hurdle record placing first, ranking first in the OVC and 113th in the NCAA.
The Cape Girardeau native also grabbed the gold in the long jump and placed fifth in the long jump ranking fifth in the OVC, and recorded a new PR in the shot put and placed seventh.

The Redhawks competed at the Dr. Rick McGuire Invite and posted five new SEMO records, 14 top ten performances and 23 new personal records.
Thomason set two new SEMO records at the meet in the pentathlon with 3734 points placing third and in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.50 to grab the gold.
Lewis threw 61' 1.5" to set a new SEMO record in shot put to earn him a third place finish in the event. Lewis also placed fourth (70' 6.25") in the weight throw.
In the men's 3000m race, Little and Cimmarusti both broke the previous record of 8:17.40 set by Brian Radle in 1989. Little set the new record with an 8:16.08 and placed 11th, while Cimmarusti finished in 13th with an 8:16.58.
Brooklyn Bender came in fifth in the 5000m with a time of 18:26.13.
Mattea Pearsall, Laila Hardin, Lauren Eftink, and Layla Fliege ran the women's distance medley, finishing with a time of 12:24.08 and earning a silver medal.
During the women's mile Pearsall placed fifth with a new personal best time of 5:09.82.
Kenyon Johnson jumped for a distance of 49' 3" to take fourth in the triple jump.
Sophomore Brianna Dixon jumped 5' 7" to place fifth in the high jump.
In the women's 4x400 Breanna Miles, Sydney Burdine, Erika Mellor, and Laila Hardin finished with a time of 3:51.83 to earn fifth place.
