Redhawks Track & Field Continue Success at Frank Sevigne Husker Invite

LINCOLN, Neb. - Southeast Missouri track and field finished up the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite with 25 top 20 performances, with 12 being top ten finishes and posted six new personal bests.

Atop The Podium
Kenyon Johnson jumped three times for a distance of 50' 1.75" to stand alone atop the podium in the triple jump, besting ten other athletes. 

Top Ten Marks
Erika Mellor clocked in at 1:34.56 for the silver medal and new personal best in the 600m.

In the men's and women's 60m hurdles Marcus Gordon took seventh (8.35) and Brianna Dixon ended with a time of 8.61 (6th, PR).

The Freshman, Tyler Anderson notched a time of 1:20.88 for eighth in the 600-meter.

Noah Little's mile time stopped at 4:12.59 for fifth and a new personal record.

Cole Reinders crossed the line in sixth in the 800m dash with a time of 1:51.39.

Mason Clough jumped over a height of 6' 4.75" for eighth in the high jump.

Brianna Dixon clears a height of 5' 7.25" in the women's high jump for eighth.

The women's 4x400 squad of Sydney Burdine, Alaina Lester, Mellor, and Laila Hardin grabbed the bronze medal with a time of 3:52.63.

Paden Lewis chalked up a third place finish in the shot put with a final mark of 60' 1.75" while Quinton Maxwell threw a season best mark of 50' 6.25" for 10th.

Notable Redhawk Finishes
In the men's mile Byron Sowerby grabbed 11th place (4:19.30), Myles Thornburg placed 15th with a new PR (4:22.20), Nick Cimmarusti placed 16th (4:22.53) and Garrett Dumke placed 17th (4:28.99).

The women's mile saw Lauren Eftink, Layla Fliege, and Mattea Pearsall notch times of 5:06.95 (13th, PR), 5:11.05 (16th), and 5:14.24 (17th).

With an ending time of 1:54.46 Justin Splitt took 16th in the men's 800m.

With throws of 44' 0.50", 42' 11.50", and 41' 2.25", Baylee Beard, Andreese Ortiz, and Bailie Hux placed 11th, 13th, and 15th.

Burdine and Lester crossed the line at 25.35 and 26.00 to take 15th and 21st (PR) in the women's 200m.

The Redhawks cross the river for the Don DeNoon Invite in Carbondale, Ill. next Saturday, February 15th.
