Three Redhawks Break Records as SEMO Concludes Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Lewis, Little, and Cimmarusti break SEMO records in shot put and the men's 3000m as the Redhawks finish day two of the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational with 39 top 20 finishes and 18 new personal records

Record Breakers
Paden Lewis threw 61' 1.5" to set a new SEMO record in shot put, breaking the previous record of 60' 11.25" set by Josh Uchtman in 2012. This throw earned him third place in the event.

In the men's 3000m race, Noah Little and Nick Cimmarusti both broke the previous record of 8:17.40 set by Brian Radle in 1989. Little set the new record with an 8:16.08 and placed 11th, while Cimmarusti finished in 13th with an 8:16.58.

Top Five Performers
During the women's mile Mattea Pearsall placed fifth with a new personal best time of 5:09.82.

Kenyon Johnson jumped for a distance of 49' 3" to take fourth in the triple jump.

Sophomore Brianna Dixon jumped 5' 7" to place fifth in the high jump.

In the women's 4x400 Breanna Miles, Sydney Burdine, Erika Mellor, and Laila Hardin finished with a time of 3:51.83 to earn fifth place.

Top Ten Marks
The women's mile saw Layla Fliege and Alayna Sparr place sixth and eighth with times of 5:14.20 and 5:28.17.

Cole Reinders crossed the line at 4:08.44 (ninth) in the men's mile for a new personal best.

Clara Billing cleared hurdles for 60m in 8.87 for ninth and a new personal best.

In the 800-meter dash Mellor recorded an ending time of 2:12.70 for sixth and a new PR.

In the high jump Molly Grohmann jumped 5' 5" to take eighth in the event.

With a time of 3:23.86 Evan Fuller, Tyler Anderson, Justin Splitt, and Cole Reinders placed seventh in the men's 4x400.

Noteworthy finishes
In the men's mile Splitt, finished in 4:09.55 (14th, PR), Byron Sowerby placed 19th (4:18.48), Fuller ended with a time of 4:19.35 (20th, PR), and Louis Primeau notched an ending time of 4:28.74 (23rd, PR)

Megan Aubuchon clocked in a time of 9.07 for 14th place in the women's 60m hurdles.

During the women's shot put Andreese Ortiz Placed 11th (45' 2.25", PR), Bailie Hux Placed 18th (40' 4.75), and Baylee Beard placed 19th with an ending mark of 39' 4".

Miles raced around the track during the 400m for a time of 56.49 (11th), and Burdine and Alaina Lester placed 15th (56.98) and 19th (59.37, PR).

In the women's 60m Miles finished in 7.85 (13th), Lester finished in 8.00 (15th), and Burdine finished in 8.03 (18th).

Luke Collins posted an ending time of 7.21 for 17th in the men's 60-meter dash.

After finishing with times of 2:24.09 and 2:25.88 Fleige and Pearsall placed 12th and 14th in the women's 800-meter dash.

Reinders and Splitt timed in at 1:52.24 and 1:55.29 for 12th and 20th during the 800m event.

In the women's 3000m race Lauren Eftink placed 15th (10:17.16, PR) and Kayla Vogelsang placed 17th (10:18.42, PR).

In the men's 3000m three redhawks claimed new personal records, Garrett Dumke placed 17th (8:33.68, PR), Myles Thornburg placed 18th (8:35.05, PR), and Cade McCadams placed 22nd (8:40.54, PR).

Jake Casey recorded a new personal best time of 9.30 (15th) in the Heptathlon 60m hurdles and finished the Heptathlon with 3868 total points (15th).

Quinton Maxwell placed 20th in men's shot put throwing 49' 7.75".

Looking Ahead
Next weekend the Redhawks travel to Lincoln, Nebraska for the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite, Feb. 7-8.
