CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Men's and Women's Basketball returned to historic Houck Field House for the second annual Houckamania presented by Lawless Harley-Davidson on Wednesday night.
The Redhawks men's and women's teams began the night with player and staff introductions with music, special effects, and spotlights introduced both squads.
After the introductions wrapped up, the two teams split into a classic three-point contest competition. For the women, guards
Lexi McCully and
Carmen Taylor faced off with Troy Cole, Jr. and
BJ Ward from the men's side.
McCully defeated Cole by a final count of 12-8 before Taylor defeated Ward by a 13-11 score as both women advanced to the final round.
Carmen Taylor, a graduate student from Memphis, Tennessee, sealed the deal with 14 three-pointers and was crowned champion.
A special routine performed by Southeast Missouri's Cheer Squad and Southeast Missouri Gymnastics broke up the basketball action. The two teams joined together and performed SEMO cheers and a special dance routine.

Braxton Stacker, sophomore
Landren Blocker, and freshman
Trace Sadler. Blocker, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, jumped over a Lawless Harley-Davidson motorcycle and secured the 2025 Dunk Contest title.
Darren Burgfeld served as the emcee for the entirety of Houckamania.
The Southeast Missouri Men's Basketball team will open the 2025-26 campaign on Monday, November 3 at Saint Louis. SEMO Women's Basketball will begin their season the following day, Tuesday, November 4, at Illinois.
