Nine Redhawks Qualify for NCAA West Preliminary

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Nine Southeast Missouri athletes qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field First Round competitions.

The top 48 declared athletes from the East and West regions are accepted into the first round competitions for each individual event. 

The Redhawk athletes will compete at the West first round scheduled for May 22-25 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, hosted by the University of Arkansas.

Terrico Garrett, Paden Lewis, Parker Feuerborn, Marshall Swadley, and Justin Breault will be representing the Redhawks on the men's side.

Garrett qualified in the 800m for the second time in his career. Lewis will compete in the shot put and hammer throw events. Feuerborn and Swadley will join him in the hammer throw for the second year in a row. Breault has also qualified in the javelin throw for two consecutive years.

On the women's side, the Redhawks will be represented by Clara Billing, Jaden Kight, Brianna Dixon, Molly Grohmann.

Billing is back competing in the pole vault during her sophomore season and Kight qualified in the javelin throw. Freshman jumpers, Grohmann and Dixon will both compete in the high jump.

The top 12 competitors from each individual event advance to 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships from Wednesday, June 5 through Saturday, June 8 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
