
Redhawks Head to the Volunteer State for the Memphis Invite this Weekend.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri track & field heads to Memphis, Tenn. for the Memphis Invite. The meet will will held at the Billy J. Murphy Track and Field Complex, Friday April 26 through Saturday the 27th.
On Friday the field events begin at 2:00 p.m CT with the long jump while the running events commence at 6:00 p.m with the 1500m run.
The field and running events are slated for 10:00 a.m and 12:20 p.m on Saturday. The last event is scheduled for 3:30 with the men's 4x400m relay.
Weekly Award Winners
Terrico Garrett notched OVC Male Track Athlete of the week for the first time this outdoor season. The graduate placed first in the 800m ahead of 105 other athletes. The new PR time of 1:48.94 ranks 84th in the NCAA, first in the OVC and second in SEMO records. Garrett also ran a leg in 4x400 where his team placed seventh (3:13).
Laila Hardin tabbed Ohio Valley Female Track Athlete of the Week Honors for her performances in the 100m and 400m hurdles. The Tennessee native crossed the line at 12.59 for a new personal best in the 100m. Her 400m hurdle time of 59.41 (3rd) ranks 79th in the nation, first in the OVC, and third in the SEMO record books.
Marcus Gordon Jr. claimed freshman of the week honors for the first time for his performance in the 400m hurdles. His time of 54.81 (19th) was better than 25 other athletes. This time was a new personal record and ranks eighth in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Graduate student Parker Feuerborn threw for a distance of 231' 4" beating 25 other athletes for the gold medal in the men's hammer throw.

Erika Mellor ran the 800m in 2:13.08 for 15th and recorded a new personal best.
Brianna Dixon and Megan Aubuchon crossed the line at 25.31 and 26.60 to set a new personal best times in the 200m.
Alivia Busch threw for a mark of 146' 11" in the discus for fifth place.
Laila Hardin crossed the 59.41 to take third in the women's 400-meter hurdles.
With a distance of 159' 2" and a fifth place finish Marshall Swadley achieved a new PR.

Jaden Kight took the bronze medal in the Women's javelin with a throw of 140' 3".
Marshall Swadley posted a throw of 55' 0.25" to claim the silver medal in the men's shot put.

For each individual event the top 48 performances will be accepted into the NCAA regional which is broken up into East and West. For each relay event, the top 24 relay teams will be accepted into the competition. The top 24 performances in the combined events (Heptathlon and Decathlon) are accepted directly into the Championships.
The sport is broken up into nine regions, SEMO is in the Midwest Region which includes all the Division One schools from Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois.
Southeast Missouri has two athletes ranked in the top 50 of the country, 23 performances ranked in the top 20 in the Midwest Region, and 13 first place performances in the Ohio valley Conference.
Parker Feuerborn has the 11th best mark in the nation, (3rd regionally, 1st conference) in the hammer throw. The graduate student achieved a distance of 235' 1" at the Richard Martin Invite March 15th, 2024.
Shea DeGraaf scored 7029 points at the Joey Haines Invite to be ranked 44th in the nation and seventh in the region. DeGraaf also has the 10th best throw in the region and best throw in the conference in the Javelin (204' 4").
Breanna Miles is ranked 11th in the region in the 100-meter (11.59), ranked 14th in the region in the 200m (1st OVC) (23.84).
Terrico Garrett is ranked ninth in the region and first in the Ohio valley in the 800-meter with a time of 1:48.94.

Breanna Dixon jumped over a height of 5' 8.75" to be ranked 14th in the region, and first in the OVC.
