BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Clara Billing adds to the long lists of records broken for the Redhawks this season after she broke the SEMO Indoor pole vault record. The Redhawks enjoyed another successful day in Birmingham posting five first place finishes, 12 new personal records, and 23 top ten performances.
Record Broken
Sophomore
Clara Billing broke the SEMO indoor pole vault record when she cleared a height of 13" 4.5". The Swedish native broke the former record of 13' 1.5" set by Jill Schnurbuch in 2013. This is the third pole vault record Billing has broke at Southeast.
Second to None
Makenzie Williams brings home the gold in the women's weight throw, achieving a mark of 59' 0.25".
Taylor Fox finishes with a time of 2:10.13 to take the trophy home the women's 800-meter. This was her second first place finish this weekend
Parker Feuerborn broke the meet record in the weight throw with a 74' 6.25" throw, ranking second all time in SEMO history.
Top 5 Marks
Alivia Busch took home the bronze medal in the weight throw, and placed fourth in the shot put, throwing for distances of 56' 3.75" and 42' 11.5".
Brianna Dixion ran fast enough for fifth in the women's 60-meter hurdle finals (8.81).
In the men's mile
Justin Splitt finished with a time of 4:19.41 for fourth.
Erika Mellor registered a time of 2:17.45 in the women's 800-meter for third.
Williams achieved a mark of 41' 4.5" claiming fifth and
Bailee Hux threw for a mark of 41' 3.5" (6th) in the women's shot put.
Sydney Burdine and Breana Miles placed third and fourth with times of 55.96 (NEW PR) and 56.17.
Terrico Garrett places second, crossing the line at 4:14.88 for a new PR in the mile.
Louis Primeau took third in the men's 800 (1:56.07) and recorded a new personal record.
Marshall Swadley threw for a mark of 65' 1.25" (4th) in the men's weight throw.
Aarion Jackson places third in the men's triple jump (44' 2.5").
In the men's shot Swadley and Feuerborn chalked up fourth (54' 2.5") and fifth place (50' 5.25") finishes.
Noteworthy Performances
In her first ever 60-meter race Molly Grohman placed 13th with a time of 8.23
Tanner Koontz crossed the line in his very first 60m race in 7.37.
In the women's weight throw
Piper Klinger and
Bailee Hux finished in sixth and seventh with throws of 55' 7" and 53' 3.25". Hux also placed sixth (41'3.5) in the shot put.
The men's long jump saw
Isaac Readnour,
Shea DeGraaf, and
Luke Busateri with distances of 21" 0" (11th), 20" 4.25" (14th), and 20" 3.5" (16th).
Anna Thomason finished sixth (17' 6.25"),
Kendall Holweg placed 18th (16' 4.5"),
Kaitlyn McGinnitey notched 25th (15' 11").
Readnour jumped for 18th in the men's high jump (5" 10.75").
Sklar Prescott cleared a height of 11" 0.75" for 12th in the women's pole vault.
Trystan Wright notched a new personal best in the men's 60m hurdles (8.66).
In the women's 400-meter
Leanza Dwaah ran for 16th and a time of 59.44.
Momoh Brema,
Connor Moore, and Wright achieved times of 50.11 (15th), 50.12 (16th), and 53.12 (PR) in the men's 400.
In the men's weight throw
Clay Alewelt achieved a mark of 60' 9.5" for sixth.
In the women's 200-meter Thomason placed 14th (25.33) for a new PR, Dixion placed 29th (26.31) for a new PR, and
Megan Aubuchon achieved a new personal best (27.49).
In the men's 200 Moore, Brema, Marcus Gordon, and Koontz notched times of 22.36, 22.38, 23.22, and 23.38 all were good enough for new personal bests.
Ciara Potter and
Serena Williams jump for seventh (new PR) and ninth with marks of 38' 0.25" and 37' 6" in the women's long jump.
Quinton Maxwell threw the shot put for a distance of 49' 2.5" for eighth place.
Looking Ahead
Southeast Missouri track and field will be back at home next weekend for the Redhawks Open Friday, Feb. 16 at 3:30 p.m in the SEMO Rec. Center.
