BLOOMINGTON, Ind, - Southeast Missouri track and field enjoyed a successful first meet of the 2025 Indoor season at the Indiana Early Bird Meet, with
Anna Thomason breaking the SEMO pentathlon record. Southeast posted four first place finishes and 13 podium finishes.
Record Broken
Anna Thomason took home the gold medal in the pentathlon with 3643 total points breaking the previous record of 3580 set last year by
Kaitlyn McGinnitey at the OVC Indoor Championships.
First Place Finishers
Paden Lewis threw for a mark of 21.74m to take the gold and a new PR in the men's weight throw.
Freshman
Cole Reinders crosses the line at 1:21.01 in the 600m to take the gold.
Kenyon Johnson takes the crown in the men's triple jump with a distance of 15.45mÂ
Top three
Makenzie Williams threw for the bronze medal and a mark of 17.30m in the weight throw.
Marcus Gordon ran the 60m hurdles in 8.23 to wear the silver.
Andreese Ortiz chalked up a mark of 13.09m for third in her first ever shot put event.
Sydney Burdine ran the 400m in 56.69 to take the silver medal.
Clara Billing vaulted over a height of 3.95m to take second in the women's pole vault.
In the men's pole vault
Sullivan Gleason and
Tanner Koontz vaulted over heights of 5.00m and 4.85m for second and third.
Mattea Pearsall recorded a time of 2:27.41 in the women's 800-meter for third.
Breanna Miles recorded a finishing time of 24.20 in the 200-meter for second.
Notable Performances
Clay Alewelt achieved a distance of 17.54m (7th) in the weight throw.
In the women's weight throw
Bailee Hux and
Baylee Beard posted distances of 17.23m (4th) and 15.94m (9th).
The women's long jump finals saw
Molly Grohmann clear a height of 5.57m (5th) and
Krysta Miller jump over a height of 5.33m (6th).
Megan Aubuchon takes fourth place in the 60-meter hurdle finals crossing the finish line in 9.12 seconds.Â
Beard and Hux recorded distances of 12.70m and 12.23m in the shot put to take fifth and sixth.
Miles crossed the line at 7.60 for fourth in the 60m finals.
With a time of 58.39
Laila Hardin takes fifth in the 400m.
After vaulting over a height of 3.35m,
Skylar Prescott placed sixth in the pole vault.
In the men's long jump
Aarion Jackson placed sixth (7.19m, new PR) and
Cole Bruenderman (6.76m).
Trey Mygatt ran a time of 1:59.60 in the men's 800-meter for sixth.
With a sixth place finish
Colin Beers achieved a height of 4.55m in the pole vault.
Bruenderman jumped for a mark of 13.91m for fourth in the men's triple jump.
The women's 4x400 relay team of Miles, Burdine, Pearsall, and Hardin crossed the line at 4:01.14 (5th).
The men's 4x400 relay team; Mygatt, Reinders,
Louis Primeau, and
Micah Grawer finished with a time of 3:37.03 for sixth.
Pentathlon Men Results
Freshman
Luis Schadlich was the only Redhawk to compete in the Pentathlon. Schadlich placed second overall with 3726 total points.Â
Schadlich took first in the long jump, jumping to the distance of 7.05-meters.Â
Schadlich placed second in the 60-meter hurdles (8.65) and shot put (11.67m). Then recorded two third place finishes in the high jump and 1000-meter run with a mark of 1.86-meters and a time of 2:45.85.Â
Pentathlon Women Results
The SEMO women had three athletes compete in the women's pentathlon.
Kendall Holweg placed third with 2696 total points, and Taylor Gudde placed seventh (2386 points). Â
In the individual events, Thomason took first in the pentathlon 60-meter hurdles (8.62), first in the high jump (1.62-meters), and fourth in the shot put (9.13 meters).
Thomason recorded two second place finishes to end the Pentathlon. Second in the long jump (5.46 meters) and second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.91.Â
Kendall Holweg placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles, high jump, and long jump with marks of 9.77 seconds, 1.44 meters, and 5.09 meters.Â
Holweg recorded a third place finish in the shot put (9.14m) and fourth in the 800-meter run (2:37.58).Â
Taylor Gudde ran a time of 10.09 in the 60-meter hurdles placing fifth, placed fourth in the high jump at 1.44m, and third in the long jump getting to the distance of 5.15 meters.Â
Gudde stood atop the podium in the shot put (10.08 meters).Â
Looking Ahead
The Redhawks will take a brief hiatus for the holiday season and will return Jan. 11 for the Redhawks Invite in the SEMO Student Recreation Center.
