URBANA-CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Breanna Miles led the Southeast Missouri track and field team finishing first in the women's 200-meter. The Redhawks notched five new personal records and 24 top ten finishes on day one of the Illini Challenge.
The Redhawks are back in action tomorrow for day two of the Illini Challenge starting with the heptathlon. The Multi event resumes with the 60-meter hurdles at 10:15 a.mÂ
The field events begin at 1:00 p.m with the women's shot put and the track events will get underway at 12:00 p.m with the women's 60m prelims.Â
Winner Winner
Breanna Miles the senior from Memphis, Tenn. crossed the line wearing the gold medal in the women's 200-meter with a time of 24.39.
New Personal Records
Taylor Gudde achieved a New personal record in the shot put, throwing for a distance of 35' 3.25" and third place.
Issac Readnour posted a New PR in the shot during the heptathlon for ninth (33' 10.75").
Anna Thomason jumped for a distance of 17' 8" in the women's pentathlon for the new personal record.
Sydney Burdine raced to fifth place and a new personal record in the women's 200 (25.59).
Megan Abuchon ran the 200m in a new PR time of 27.77.
Top Ten Finishers
In the women's shot put
Makenzie Williams takes fourth with a throw of 57' 10.5.
The men placed three in the top five of the weight throw with
Parker Feuerborn placing second (70' 8"),
Paden Lewis third (67' 8") and
Marshall Swadley fifth (61' 3.5").
The men's distance medley team of
Terrico Garrett, Mark Crawford,
Justin Splitt and
Noah Little crossed the line at 10:15.25 for third.
Ryan Seabaugh,
Micah Grawer,
Louis Primeau, and
Myles Thornburg placed fifth with a finishing time of 10:36.42.
Piper Klinger and
Bailee Hux had throws of 56' 2.5" and 55' 0.75" for seventh and eighth.
In the men's pole vault
Colin Beers vaulted over a height of 15' 5.5" (6th) and
Sullivan Gleason got to a height of 14' 11.5" for eighth.
Clay Alewelt achieved a distance of 57' 5" to place sixth in the men's weight throw.
In the women's 200-meter dash
Leanza Dwaah finished with a time of  26.00 for seventh.
In the women's high jump
Molly Grohmann placed sixth (5' 5") and
Sophie Dubis and
Serena Williams cleared a height of 5' 3" for eighth.
The women's distance medley saw
Taylor Fox,
Erika Mellor,
Hannah Eastman and
Madelyn Gray place third (11:55.81)
Layla Fliege, Kendal Holweg,
Brianna Payton, and Alyana Sparr crossed the line at 12:50.78 to finish sixth
Luke Hatfield Jackson jumped for second in the men's long jump ( 24' 7") and third in the men's high jump, clearing a height of 6' 10.25".
Luke Busateri jumped for 10th and tied his PR with a distance of 21' 1.5" on the men's long jump.
Mason Clough chalked up a ninth place finish in the men's high jump (6' 4.25").
Pentathlon Results
Anna Thomason scored a total of 3365 points for third in the women's pentathlon while
Tayler Gudde notched a total of 3044 points for seventh place.
In the 60m Hurdles Thomason placed first (8.83) and
Kaitlyn McGinnitey notched second (9.05)
Thomason jumped 5" 2.5" and McGinnitey jumped 5" 2.5" for second and third in the high jump.
McGinnitey threw the shot put for a distance of 32' 0.25" for fifth
Gudde Crossed the line at 2:27.16 in the women's pentathlon 800 for second.
Heptathlon Day 1 Results
After Day one of the Men's Heptathon Shea Degraaf is in 4th with 2782 points and
Isaac Readnour is in 6th with 2606 points
DeGraaf placed fifth in the men's shot put and the high jump with marks of 43' 9.25" and 6' 0.5".
Readnour highest places were sixth place finishes with a time of 7.32 in the 60m and cleared a distance of 1.81m in the high jump.
