Â
Series HistoryÂ
The 2022-23 season marked the first season for Lindenwood in the Division I era and was the first time that the Redhawks and Lions met as D-I opponents. The Redhawks swept the regular season series with Lindenwood, capping it off with a 67-62 victory in St. Charles on February 23, 2023. SEMO now maintains a 3-0 series advantage.Â
Â
Top Scorer
Junior guard
Jaliyah Green is SEMO's top scorer this season through the first 14 games. Green, a Wentzville, Mo.-native, averages 14.7 points-per-game for Coach
Rekha Patterson and has started all 14 games in 23-24. Green is currently ranked sixth overall in the OVC in scoring. Forward Raegan McCowan of WIU is in first place (17.9 PPG).Â
Â
Game of Quarters
The Redhawks have had success in all four quarters of the season, but the third quarter has been the Achilles heel so far in 23-24. In the first half, SEMO is trailing their opponents 460-467 on the season. In the second half, the Redhawks are winning the fourth quarter by a margin of 260-241. However, the third quarter has been where opponents have taken advantage leading the quarter 264-175 all season long. Overall, SEMO trails the season scoreboard 972-895.Â
Â
Turnover Margin
Southeast Missouri has done a great job of reducing turnovers as the season has progressed and in Thursday's contest against Western Illinois (1/4) they had a season-low seven turnovers. The Redhawks currently have a +2.9 turnover margin advantage over their opponents which ranks them third in the OVC in that category.Â
Â
Stealing Flowers
Junior guard
Kiyley Flowers is currently leading the Ohio Valley Conference in steals with 34 total. Last season, Flowers finished runner-up to Morehead State's guard Veronica Charles who now trails Flowers this season. The Raymore, Mo.-native averages 2.6 steals-per-game and has played in 13 games after missing time due to an injury.
Â
Last Time Out

Â
Alecia Doyle and
Jaliyah Green led the way offensively for the Redhawks with 17 and 16 points, respectively, as the duo has now scored double-digits in two straight games.Â
Â

Â
Kiyley Flowers started the second half with a three-pointer on the Redhawks' first possession of the half to make the score 41-32.Â
Â
The game featured a two-minute scoring draught before WIU's Raegan McCowan made 1-of-2 free throws with 7:53 left in the quarter.Â
Â
Midway through the quarter, an Addi Brownfield layup got the Leathernecks to within four, but
Jaliyah Green would respond with a layup of her own to give SEMO a six-point lead with 4:50 to go before the final quarter.
Â
The Redhawks would score three more points before the end of the quarter and led 49-46 as the game headed to the final 10-minutes.Â
