CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri Cross Country will be traveling to Columbia, Missouri to compete in the Gans Creek Classic. The meet will be held this Friday, September 29. The meet will feature 24 teams from 12 different conferences.

The Invitational will begin with the men's 8000-meter at 9:00 a.m., CT, followed by the women running the 6000-meter slated to start at 9:45 a.m., CT.

The women will run the course twice while the men will race three times around with the first lap being modified. 

The last time cross country competed in the Gans Creek Classic the Women placed seventh, the men earned tenth place and Hannah Eastman led the Redhawks with a top-50 finish.

Last Time Out
The Redhawks last competed at the John McNichols invite in Terre Haute, Indiana where the SEMO women finished with seven new personal bests and the men finished with two.

Noah Little finished first for the SEMO men. Little crossed the line at 25:08.3 for a new personal best and 41st place.

The Freshman Cade McCadams finished second for SEMO. McCadams crossed the finish line in 26:03.0 finishing in 80th place. 

Hannah Eastman finished first for the SEMO women placing sixth overall. Eastman finished with a time of 17:35.5 which earned her a new personal best.

Taylor Fox notched a time of 18:21.9 for a new personal record. Fox finished the 5k in 28th place.

The freshman Brooklyn Bender ran her first 5k in 19:02.8 for 48th.

Madelyn Gray beat her personal best by five seconds when she ran the race in 18:41.4 for 72nd.

The Redhawks will be on the road again for their next meet in Evansville, Ind. to compete at the Angel Mounds Invitational. The race is Friday, October 13 with the women's 6,000-Meters at 9 a.m. and the men's 8,000-Meters at 10 a.m.
