CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri Cross Country will be traveling to Terre Haute, Indiana to compete in the John McNichols Cross Country Invitational. The meet will be held this Saturday, September 14.
The Invitational will begin with the men's 8000-meter at 8:00 a.m., CT and the women will be competing in the 5000-meter which is scheduled to start at 8:45 a.m., CT.
Both races will be held at the Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course on, 599 Tabortown St, Terre Haute, IN.
The women will race one time around the course and the men will race two times around with the second lap being modified.
Last Time Out
The Redhawks last competed at the Redhawks Cross Country Invite where the SEMO women and men both took first place.
Hannah Eastman took home the gold medal in the women's 4000-meter, crossing the finish line at a time of 14:06.4 for a new PR in the 4k.
Taylor Fox finished just behind Eastman picking up the silver medal in the women's 4000-meter. Fox finished with a new PR time of 14:25.
Noah Little led the SEMO men finishing second in the men's 6000-meter. Little finished the race in 18:39.5.
Seth Gleason recorded a time of 19:01.3 for a third place finish in the men's 6000-meter.
Layla Fliege finished the 4000-meter in 14:53.6 for fifth place.
Madelyn Gray and Brooklyn Bender finished back to back for sixth and seventh place. Gray crossed the line at 15:04.6 and Bender finished her first ever collegiate race with a time of 15:10.0.
Justin Splitt ran the 6k race in 19:17.4, finishing in seventh. Splitt's time was good enough for a new personal best.
Garrett Dumke and freshman Cade McCadams finished the race nearly together in ninth and 10th, with times of 19:17.9 for a new PR and 19:22.8.
Graduate student Brianna Payton finished the 4000-meter race in 15:28.2 for 10th.
Following the John McNichols Cross Country Invitational the Redhawks will compete in the Gans Creek Classic on September 29.
