Redhawks Host Two-Game Set With Indiana State To Continue Homestand
Southeast Missouri (4-8) will host Missouri Valley-member Indiana State (2-8) for a two-game midweek series at Capaha Field, March 7-8. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m., CT. on both Tuesday and Wednesday.Â

Series History
Last season, the Redhawks traveled to Terre Haute, Ind. to take on the Sycamores for a two-game set on the road. SEMO dropped both contests at Bob Warn Field halting a SEMO win streak of 11 games.Â

The Sycamores won Tuesday's contest by a final score of 10-1, and won the "series" on Wednesday with a 5-4 victory.Â
Indiana State has a 7-0 series lead on the Redhawks going into this year's series.Â

Southeast Missouri dropped to 0-2 in midweek action with its 14-8 loss to Evansville (Mar. 1). SEMO is 31-41 all-time in midweek games under Head Coach

Redhawks Capture Home Opening Series Win Over MilwaukeeÂ
Southeast Missouri took games two and three from the Milwaukee Panthers over the weekend to win the opening weekend series at Capaha Park by a two-game to one tally as the Redhawks improved to 4-8 on the season.Â

The Redhawks struggled in Game One of Saturday's double header (Friday game moved due to weather) as designated hitter
Carlos Aranda hit his third home run of the season to give SEMO it's only run of the contest. Southeast Missouri dropped game one by a final score of 3-1.Â

The Redhawks offense came alive in the final two games of the series, totaling 26 hits over the two games (12, 14) to win Saturday's game two, 6-5, and Sunday's rubber match, 13-7.Â

Aranda Goes Yard (Twice)
Carlos Aranda hit his third and fourth home runs over the weekend. Aranda, a native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, now leads the team with four home runs. He also leads the team in slugging percentage (.677).

Multi-Home Run Day
Sunday afternoon saw three Redhawks leave the ballpark via the home run ball. First baseman
Lincoln Andrews hit his third of the season with a first inning shot to the right field party deck to give the Redhawks a 2-0 lead.Â

Ty Stauss hit his first round-triper of the season with a towering fly to the right center field gap.
Carlos Aranda hit his fourth home run of the season down the left field line, a solo shot, to give the Redhawks their 13
th run of Sunday's contest.Â

Cameron On Top
Outfielder
Josh Cameron continues to pace the Redhawks offense with his hot start to the 2023 campaign. Over the weekend, Cameron went just 3-for-13 at the plate but drove in five RBI over the three-game set.Â
Â
Cameron leads the team in batting average (.348), runs (12), hits (16), RBI (11), triples, (2), total bases (31), and is currently tied for second on the team in home runs (3).Â

100 Starts
Jevon Mason made his 100th career start at Central Arkansas (Feb. 17). Mason (107) is now the third active player on this year's roster with over 100 career starts joining
Peyton Leeper (119) and
Lincoln Andrews (114).

Sycamores 101
Indiana State comes into the midweek sporting a 2-8 record and most recently, suffered a series-sweep at the hands of Southeastern Conference member, Kentucky. The Sycamores two wins this season have come against Quinnipiac (Feb. 18) and Florida Gulf Coast (Feb. 21).
The Sycamores are led offensively by catcher Luis Hernandez who currently leads Indiana State in batting average (.300), third in slugging percentage (.475), first in runs scored (10), and first in hits (12). Hernandez is also first on the team in doubles with four on the season.

Infielder Mike Sears has provided the power thus far for Indiana State. The right-handed batsman, by way of Cincinatti, Ohio, leads the Sycamores in slugging percentage (.541). He is also the team leader in home runs with three, RBI (12), and total bases (20).Â

Looking Ahead
The Redhawks will continue their lengthy homestand this weekend as Butler comes to Cape Girardeau for a three-game weekend series. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m., CT. on Friday, March 10 at Capaha Field. Saturday is slated to begin at 2 p.m., CT. and the weekend series will wrap-up on Sunday with a 1 p.m., CT. start.Â
