CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – SEMO Track & Field will take part in the 2023 Joey Haines Invite in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on Friday, March 31 through Saturday, April 1 as a part of a huge day in SEMO athletics.

Prior to Saturday's competition, the 16th annual Cindy Gannon Walk For Women will be taking place on the SEMO recreation fields to help support Redhawks athletics.

The Joey Haines Invite will be the only home meet for the Redhawks this season held at the Abe Stuber Track and Field Complex.

Friday's events are scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. with the women's hammer throw followed directly by the men's hammer throw.

Saturday's field events will begin with the shot put at 11:00 a.m. and end with the javelin scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m. Saturday's running events will start at 12:00 p.m. with the 3000-meter steeplechase and end with the 4x400-meter relay.

The Southeast Senior recognition is scheduled to begin at 3:40 p.m.

Records Broken
The women's 4x800 meter relay team of Taylor fox, Erika Mellor, Madelyn Gray, and Katie Wegmann broke the Southeast Missouri State record with a time of 9:01.34 on March 21 at the Bulldog Relays.

The previous record was 9:09.09 held by Laura Byrne, Debbie Kilpatrick, Pam Palmer, and Jennella Torrence in 1985.

Luke Hatfield Jackson broke his own Southeast Missouri State record in the high jump with a jump of 2.19-meters at the Mississippi State Bulldog Relays. He previously broke the record back in 2021 with a jump of 2.178-meters.

Breanna Miles, the junior from Memphis, Tenn. broke the school record in the 200-meter when she crossed the line at 23.71 on March 22.

Miles broke the record previously held by Jerika Lewis (23.91) set in 2013. She also broke the indoor 200-meter record twice during the indoor season, making this her third school record this season.

Last Time Out
The Redhawks last competed at the Mississippi State Bulldog Relays March 23 - 25 in Starkville, Mississippi where they broke three records, had five first place finishes, and ten new PR's.

Ciara Potter placed sixth and finished with a new PR in the women's triple jump, with a jump of 11.40-meters.

Clay Alewelt threw for 53.59-meters finishing in second place and recorded a new PR in the men's discus.

In the women's discus Megan Deimeke achieved a 42.24 mark for a new personal best and an eighth place finish.

Makenzie Williams took home the silver medal with a throw of 48.64-meters in the discus.

In the women's hammer throw Makenzie Williams took the top spot on the podium and set a new PR with a throw of 56.04m, as Megan Deimeke placed third with a distance of 47.67.

Katie Wegmann, the senior from Mequon, Wisconsin crossed the line at 4:27.15 to stand alone atop the podium in the women's 1500-meter.

Missouri native Nick Cimmarusti crossed the line in 8:33.65 to take home the gold in the men's 3000-meter.

Anna Thomason recorded a new personal record in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in 14.70.

Breanna Miles and Leanza Dwaah both recorded a new PR in the Women's 100-meter dash, Miles placing eighth (11.71) Dwaah placing 10th (11.80).

Brenden Parham finished the 100-meter in 10.96 for a new PR.

Leanza Dwaah achieved another new personal best in the 200-meter, running a 24.82.

In the women's 1500-meters, Taylor Fox takes the silver medal, finishing with a time of 4:32.81.

Terrico Garrett finished in second place with a time of 3:56.91 in the men's 1500-meter.

Clara Billing grabs the bronze medal in the Pole Vault, achieving a mark of 3.80m.

Luke Hatfield Jackson is ranked second in the NCAA men's high jump and first in the conference for his 7' 2.25" (2.19-m). He achieved this mark on Mar. 23 at the 2023 Mississippi State Bulldog Relays.

Parker Fuerborn is ranked 28th in the NCAA and first in the OVC in the hammer throw. He threw for a mark of 210' 10" (64.26m) on March 17th at the 2023 South Alabama Invitational.

Chris Johnson is ranked fourth in the OVC for the men's 100-meters (10.67) and third in the long jump (7.27m, 23' 10.25").

In the women's 100-meters, Breanna Miles is ranked first in the conference (11.71), first in the women's 200-meter (23.71), and second in the 400-meter (56.63).

In the women's 100-meters, Leanza Dwaah is ranked second (11.80) and fourth in the 200-meter (24.82) in the OVC.

Daja Gordon is ranked third in the conference (11.91) in the 100-meter and fifth in the 200-meter (24.87).

Mark Crawford is ranked third in the Ohio Valley conference in the 800-meter (1:54.48).

In the 800-meters Erika Mellor is ranked fifth (2:21.77) in the conference.

In the women's 1500-meter Katie Wegmann is ranked first in the OVC (4:27.15), Taylor Fox is ranked second (4:32.81), and Madelyn Gray is ranked third (4:39.36).

Megan Aubuchon is ranked fifth in the women's 100-meter hurdles (14.67) in the OVC.

The 4x100 relay team of Luke Collins, Brenden Parham, Brock Wood, and Chris Johnson are ranked fifth in the OVC (42.22).

Serena Williams, Daja Gordon, Leanza Dwaah, and Breanna Miles are ranked third in the conference for the 4x100 (46.61).

On the men's 4x400 team, Brenden Parham, Mark Crawford, Brock Wood, and Terrico Garrett are ranked second in the OVC (3:18.37).

Laila Hardin, Erika Mellor, Kendall Holweg, and Leanza Dwahh are ranked second as a team in the women's 4x400 in the OVC (3:59.16).

In the women's high jump Sophie Dubis is ranked first in the conference 5' 3" (1.60m).

In the Men's pole vault Tanner Koontz is ranked first in the OVC (15' 1", 4.60m), Colin Beers is ranked second (14' 9", 4.50m), and Sullivan Gleason is ranked third (14' 1.25", 4.30m).

In the women's pole vault Clara Billing is ranked first (3.86m, 12' 8") and Skylar Prescott and Nicole Silverlake are ranked fourth (3.35m, 10' 11.75")

Aarion Jackson is ranked fifth in the OVC in the men's long jump (6.99m, 22' 11.25")

Serena Williams is ranked third in the conference in the women's long jump (5.76m, 18' 10.75").

Ciara Potter has the fourth best jump in the conference (11.40m, 37' 5") in the triple jump.

Marshall Swadley has the second best throw in the OVC in the hammer throw (64.26m, 210' 10") and fourth in shot put (16.14m, 52' 11.5").

Dylan Clark is ranked third in the conference for the hammer throw (58.56m, 192' 1") third in the discus (50.27m, 164' 11"), and third in the shot put ( 16.17m, 53' 0.75").

Clay Alewelt is ranked fourth in the OVC for his 185' 3" (56.47m) mark in the hammer throw and first in the discus (53.69m, 176' 2").

Mackenzie Williams has the best throw in the OVC in the hammer throw and the discus (56.04m, 183' 10"), (48.64m, 159' 7").

Megan Diemeke is ranked second in the conference (51.76m, 169' 10") in the hammer throw, fifth in the discus (42.24m, 138' 7"), and fifth in the shot put (13.27m, 43' 6.5").

Justin Breault, Josiah Kilgore, and Josh Kile are ranked first (194' 10"), second (191' 11"), and third (155' 2") in the men's javelin.

Jaden Knight is ranked first in the OVC for Javelin (150' 4", 45.82m).
