Cross Country

Eastman Wins OVC Cross Country Championship as the Women Place 3rd and Men Place 6th

MOREHEAD, Ky. - Hannah Eastman becomes just the fourth woman in SEMO history to win the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championship. The last time a Redhawk won was in 2002. The Women's and Men's team both finished with five new personal bests.

Southeast Missouri women's team finished in third place with 82 points right behind Southern Indiana (2nd, 71 points) and Eastern Illinois (1st, 42 points).

Southeast Missouri men's team finished in sixth place with 141 points. The Southern Indiana men placed second (74 points) and Eastern Illinois finished first (56 points). 

Eastman Again
For the third time this season Hannah Eastman breaks the school record in the women's 6000-meter. Eastman crossed the line at 20:42.77 breaking her previous record of 21:12.0. Not only did Eastman break her own record but she placed first and was named to First-Team All OVC.

All OVC
Noah Little named to First-Team All OVC while also achieving a new PR. Little crossed the finish line in 23:59.57 finishing in seventh place. This is Little's second postseason honor as he was named to the Second-Team All OVC last season. 

Taylor Fox finished in seventh place tallying a new personal best with her time of 21:50.59. With this finished Fox earned First-Team All OVC laurels.

New PR's
Freshman Cade McCadams recorded a new personal best in the men's 8000-meter with a time of 25:10.48 finishing in 40th place.

Layla Fliege finished in 18th place in the women's 6000-meter. Fliege had a time of 22:34.22 which was fast enough for a new PR.

Garrett Dumke and Terrico Garrett both finished with new PR's and placed 26th and 27th. Dumke's time was 24:48.49 and Garrett finished in 24.50.02.

Louis Primeau finished with a time of 26:46.67 which was fast enough for a new PR.

Kayla Vogelsang and Alayna Sparr recorded a new PR for the second race in a row. Vogelsang finished in 49th place crossing the line at 23:37.03. Sparr posted a time of 23:51.14.

Notable performances
Madalyn Gray posted a time of 22:34.34 in the women's 6000-meter placing 19th.

Brooklyn Bender finished in 38th place with a time of 23:15.25 and Lexie Dockstader posted a time of 23:22.45 for 41st place. 

Seth Gleason placed 45th in the men's 8000-meter finishing in 25:13.93

Aaron Modrow finished with a time of 26:42.03 finishing in 73rd. 

Justin Splitt posted a time of 26:22.51 finishing in 70th place.

Sarah Russom crossed the line at 24:25.36 placing 73rd. Haley Smith finished right after Russom in 75th place with a time of 24:37.34. 

The cross country team will head to Stillwater Okla. for the NCAA Midwest Regionals, November 10, for their final race of the season.
