CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball Head Coach
Rekha Patterson announced Tuesday the addition of
Renee Bellamy to the Redhawks staff. Bellamy will serve as the team's director of basketball operations.
Bellamy heads to Cape Girardeau after most recently serving as the head basketball coach and Parent Engagement Program Coordinator at Evans High School in Orlando, Florida.
At Evans High School, she formulated and administered preseason conditioning, practices, games, weights, along with skill and development schedules for her student-athletes. Bellamy also assisted 12 student-athletes earn scholarships and coached 14 all-conference players.
She led the Trojans to a pair of runner-up finishes and two regional quarterfinals.
Prior to Evans High School, Bellamy served as the head women's basketball coach at Eastern Florida College in Melbourne, Florida, from 2007 to 2013.
With the Titans, she coached 25 Academic All-Americans, 11 all-conference players and two All-American All-Stars. Bellamy led Eastern Florida College to four Southern Conference playoffs.
She also established and implemented a film exchange program with other Junior College head coaches.
Bellamy was also a head coach for the Women's Blue Chip Basketball League and has worked with the Nike Run Club program in Orlando, Florida.
Prior to coaching, Bellamy was a four-year scholarship student-athlete at the University of South Florida.
She ranks 11th all-time in USF history with 1,441 points and holds school records in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals, free throw percentage, and shooting percentage.
Bellamy played in 110 games with 100 starts at South Florida, earning All-Metro Conference honors during the 1993-94 season.
She graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts & Science in Sociology.
Bellamy also has professional basketball playing experience, playing Internationally in Switzerland, Australia, Russia, and Brazil, as well as with the Birmingham Power, Houston Stealth, and New England Blizzards in the U.S.
