The Southeast Missouri women's basketball team remains on the road to face Indiana State Saturday. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m., CT, at the Hulman Center in Terre Haute, Indiana. This is the third Missouri Valley Conference school the Redhawks face this year. SEMO is currently 2-0 against MVC schools with wins over Evansville (83-60) and Southern Illinois (79-65).

Indiana State leads the all-time series against Southeast Missouri, 6-0. ISU won the last meeting between these teams by a score of 62-51 on Nov. 29, 2018 at the Show Me Center. The Sycamores are 2-0 in Terre Haute with wins over the Redhawks in 2009 (72-28) and 1998 (78-56).Â
Scouting the Sycamores
The Sycamores are 2-8 this season with victories over Eastern Illinois (Nov. 10) and Illinois-Chicago (Nov. 19). Indiana State is currently on a six-game losing streak and has not scored more than 72 points in a game this season. The Sycamores average 62.5 points, 39.6 rebounds and 18.1 turnovers per contest. ISU has eight freshmen on this season's squad, including three in the starting lineup. Sommer Pitzer, Jasmie Elder and Del'Janae WIlliams have all started for the Sycamores. Junior Jamyra McChristine is the only Sycamore to start every game this season. The Chicago, Illinois native leads the team with a 54.9 (39-of-71) field goal percentage. Tesia Thompson has become just the 10th Redhawk in the Division I era to surpass 1,000-career points. She reached this milestone at Ole Miss this past weekend in just the first quarter.In her career, Thompson averages 15.7 points per contest. She was sidelined for three games this season due to a concussion. Â
Olivia Hackmann (2012-2017) was the last Redhawk to score over 1,000 points.
Redhawks Topple Ole Miss
Southeast Missouri recorded a dominating 70-53 win over SEC member Ole Miss for its first road win over an SEC school in program history. The win was SEMO's second all-time against a SEC foe and first since the Redhawks beat Missouri, 90-71, at home on Nov. 24, 1998. The Redhawks started a season with wins in six of their first eight games for the first time since 1993-94.
