The Southeast Missouri women's basketball team remains on the road to face Western Illinois Tuesday. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m., CT at the Western Hall in Macomb, Illinois.

Series History 
The all-time series against the Leathernecks is tied, 6-6. The last meeting was Nov. 20, 2018 at the Show Me Center where SEMO defeated WIU, 81-71. The Redhawks are 1-4 in Macomb, Illinois. The two teams have faced off every season since 2012, with the Leathernecks leading, 4-3, in the previous seven matchups.

Scouting the Leathernecks
The Leathernecks are 5-5 this season and carry a 4-1 home record into Tuesday's contest. Western Illinois is coming off of a 10-day break following an 88-78 victory at Chicago State on Dec. 7. WIU has recorded losses to Missouri (Nov. 5), Purdue (Nov. 17), Bradley (Nov. 20), Drake (Nov. 24), and Illinois State (Dec. 4). The Leathernecks average 77.1 points, 38.2 rebounds and 15 turnovers per game. WIU has four seniors on this season's squad, including Annabel Graettinger, Olivia Kaufmann, Avery Hamm and Kyra Washington. Kaufmann is just 94 points shy of becoming the 19th Leatherneck to reach the 1,000-point mark. The Jacksonville, Illinois native leads the team in points per game (16.3), steals (22) and assists (35). Evan Zars transferred to WIU from Saint Louis and currently leads the team in total blocks (21) and rebounds per game (11.2). 

1,000 Point Club
Junior Tesia Thompson has become just the 10th Redhawk in the Division I era to surpass 1,000-career points. She reached this milestone at Ole Miss this past weekend in just the first quarter.In her career, Thompson averages 15.6 points per contest. She was sidelined for three games this season due to a concussion.  Olivia Hackmann (2012-2017) was the last Redhawk to score over 1,000 points.

Redhawks Topple Ole Miss
Southeast Missouri recorded a dominating 70-53 win over SEC member Ole Miss for its first road win over an SEC school in program history. The win was SEMO's second all-time against a SEC foe and first since the Redhawks beat Missouri, 90-71, at home on Nov. 24, 1998. At 6-2 this season, the Redhawks are off to their best start since 1993-94.
