Tipping Off 
The Southeast Missouri women's basketball team heads to Arkansas State in its second week of the season Wednesday. ASU is the first of 16 road opponents the Redhawks will face. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m., CT, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Series History 
The Redhawks lead the all-time series with Arkansas State, 5-4. SEMO defeated the Red Wolves, 52-51, on Nov. 19, 2012 in Jonesboro during the previous meeting. The Redhawks are 2-1 against ASU in their Division I era.

Scouting the Red Wolves
The Red Wolves recently lost to Tulsa, 79-77, but defeated Central Baptist, 88-63. Both Jireh Washington and Payton Tennison lead the Red Wolves with 33 total points this season. Washington also recorded 15 rebounds and a team-high 12 assists. Jada Ford moved into A-State's all-time top 10 for 3-pointers made after making two against Tulsa. The Muskogee, Oklahoma senior needs four to tie for ninth. ASU has rebounded its opponents, 120-76, averaging 60 rebounds a game. 
 
Road Trip 
The Redhawks hit the road for a four-game trip starting Wednesday. The trip will continue at Eastern Michigan (Nov. 19), Purdue Fort Wayne (Nov. 21) and Saint Louis (Dec. 3). SEMO returns to the Show Me Center to host regional rival Southern Illinois (Dec. 7). The Redhawks are on the road for seven non-conference games this year.

Two in a Row
Southeast Missouri is 2-0 this young season after beating Missouri-St. Louis and Evansville at home. SEMO starts a season at 2-0 for the first time since 2009-10. That year, the Redhawks opened with wins over Missouri-St. Louis and Southern Mississippi.

Thompson Named Preseason All-OVC Team 
Junior guard Tesia Thompson was named Preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference Team for the second consecutive season. Thompson has 917 points and 376 rebounds thus far. The Memphis, Tennessee native is 268-367 (.730) at the free throw line. She averages 15.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 28.6 minutes per game. 

OVC Preseason Poll 
Southeast Missouri women's basketball was picked to finish sixth in this year's Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Poll, garnering 139 total points. Belmont picked up 14 of the 24 first-place votes en route to a third-straight preseason favorite. Belmont forward Ellie Harmeyer was named the OVC Preseason Player of the Year. The 2019-20 season will be the fifth under head coach Rekha Patterson. Under Patterson's leadership, the Redhawks finished the 2018-19 season with an overall record of 13-17 and 8-10 mark in conference play.
