Series Histories
Murray State
SEMO leads in the all-time series against Murray State 12-9-1. The last time the two teams faced off was in the 2017 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament in Murray, Kentucky. The Redhawks have not defeated the Racers since Oct. 5, 2014 at Houck Field.Â
UT Martin
SEMO leads 11-7-5 in the all-time series against UT Martin. The last time the Skyhawks came to Houck Field, the Redhawks left victorious. The first time these two teams faced off was in SEMO's inaugural season back in 1999. This will be the 24th meeting between the teams in 20 years.Â

Scouting the Opponents
Murray State
This matchup will be the first OVC contest for Murray State head coach Matt Lodge. The Racers are 4-1-1 overall in 2018, with wins over Western Kentucky (1-0), Northern Kentucky (2-1), IUPUI (3-0) and Florida Atlantic (3-2). The Racers only loss came against SEC opponent Ole Miss on Aug. 26.Â
UT Martin
The Skyhawks also visit Cape Girardeau for their OVC opener. UT Martin's losses came against Arkansas State (0-2) and Tennessee (0-2). UTM scored a season-high 10 goals in a shutout against Jackson State on Aug. 26.Â

Let's Recap
SEMO finished the 2017 season with an 8-8-4 overall record and 4-3-3 mark in OVC play. The Redhawks competed in the OVC Tournament, but fell short to No.1 seed Murray State.

Recently, SEMO defeated Oral Roberts after a tough trip out west to face Pac 12 members Arizona and Arizona State. The other win of the season came against Illinois-Springfield, where freshman
Morgan McCourt scored two goals.Â

OVC Preseason Poll
SEMO was picked to finish in a tie for fourth in the 2018 OVC Predicted Order of Finish. Murray State was selected to win the league with 15 first-place votes. Two other teams also garnered first-place votes, including Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee Tech.Â

The 2017 roster consists of 24 student-athletes including 17 returnees, six of which were regular starters in 2017. Notable players back in 2018 are both 2017 OVC All-Tournament Team senior forward
