Four Redhawks will represent Southeast Missouri track & field this weekend at the NCAA Division I Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships West Preliminary in Sacramento, California, at Hornet Stadium on the campus of California State University, Sacramento May 24-26.
 
Marc Maton will compete in the 1500 meters. He finished fourth in the race at the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championship with a time of 3:53.96.
 
Stephen Zagurski has qualified for the hammer throw and won silver at the 2018 OVC Championship with a mark of 200-6 (61.12m).
 
Both Jonno Engelking and Richard Vinson will compete in the javelin at the West Preliminary. Engelking, the 2018 OVC Male Co-Field Athlete of the Year, earned gold at the league championship with a Southeast program-best javelin throw of 242-5 (73.89m). Vinson finished second at the OVC Championship for silver with a toss of 198-10 (60.60m).
 
The qualifiers out of the West Preliminary and East Preliminary at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, will compete in the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 6-9 in Eugene, Oregon.

If any of the four Redhawk competitors finish in the top-12 of their respective events, that individual will advance to the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon on June 6-9.
