Series History
Regional rivals Southeast and Saint Louis meet for the 97th time this week. The Redhawks lead the all-time series by a count of 68-28. SLU has won each of the last five meetings between these teams. Southeast is 24-15 all-time against the Billikens in St. Louis.

Where They Stand
The Redhawks enter their final week of the regular season at fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference with an 11-7 league mark. Southeast and UT Martin are the only two OVC teams that have played all of their conference games to this point. Once this week is over, the other 10 OVC schools will be playing the rest of their league contests from May 1-6.

Congratulations on 250!
Mark Redburn picked up his 250th career win as a head coach when Southeast beat Morehead State, 2-0, on Apr. 21. Redburn is 251-332 all-time in his 14-year head coaching tenure. That record includes an 85-105 mark as the Redhawks head coach.

27 Wins
Southeast is 27-18 through 45 games this season. The Redhawks are tied for second in overall wins in the Ohio Valley Conference behind Eastern Illinois (29) and Eastern Kentucky (29). Southeast's 11 OVC victories are second-most behind league leader Jacksonville State (13). The 27 wins are the most in a season under Mark Redburn during his nine years as an NCAA Division I head coach.

30 in Sight
The Redhawks are three wins away from reaching 30 this year with six games remaining on their regular-season schedule. The last time Southeast won 30 games was also the last time it finished a season with a winning record. Southeast went 31-30 overall and placed fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference at 17-12 in 2011. The Redhawks have won 30 or more games in a season a total of 15 times during their program's history.

Midweek Games
Wednesday's twin bill with Saint Louis marks Southeast's final midweek contests of the regular season. The Redhawks are 4-5 in midweek games this year. Southeast beat Indiana State (Mar. 13), 5-1, 4-1, for its only midweek doubleheader sweep in 2018.

Looking Ahead
Southeast hosts Tennessee State (Apr. 28) and Belmont (Apr. 29), the bottom two teams in the Ohio Valley Conference, during its final weekend of league play. TSU (0-14) and BU (3-11) are a combined 3-25 in OVC action this season. Overall, the Tigers are 3-41 and lead the nation in losses. TSU has lost 25 games in a row.

In Position
The Redhawks are in position to clinch a spot in this year's eight-team Ohio Valley Conference Softball Tournament scheduled for May 9-12 in Oxford, Alabama. If that happens, Southeast will be in the league's postseason tournament for the second time in four years under head coach Mark Redburn. The Redhawks last made the OVC Tournament in 2015.

One-Hit Gem
Madeline Krumrey and Rachel Rook combined on a one-hitter in a 4-1 victory over Morehead State (Apr. 21). Krumrey struck out four and allowed a run on just one hit in six innings. Rook came on to pitch a perfect seventh inning en route to claiming her team-high fourth save of the season. Ironically, Southeast's last one-hit victory was also against Morehead State on Apr. 18, 2015.

Anderson on Eight-Game Hitting Streak
Center fielder Rachel Anderson enters the week on an eight-game hitting streak, the second-longest of any Redhawk this season. Anderson has had one hit in each of those eight contests. One more hit will allow Anderson to tie the team's longest hitting streak of the season (9 games by Addison Barnouski). She has also reached base in 15-consecutive contests.

Major Defensive Improvement
In 2017, Southeast committed a total of 59 errors and finished eighth in the Ohio Valley Conference with a .960 fielding percentage. Through 45 games this season, the Redhawks have been charged with just 34 errors and lead the league in fielding percentage (.972). If the season were to end today, the Redhawks 34 errors would be the lowest committed in a season by any Southeast softball team.

New Record
Southeast's 2018 club broke the school's single-season record in strikeouts looking with 76. The Redhawks surpassed their previous record of 72 by the 2009 squad. Madeline Krumrey has caught a team-high 40 hitters looking on strikes this year.

Another Record in Reach
Southeast presently has six saves which stand tied for first in a season among all Redhawk teams. One more will break the record. The Redhawks last had six saves in a season back in 2011.

Team Single-Season Rankings
The 2018 Southeast softball team currently ranks among the school's top 10 single-season leaders in nine different categories. The Redhawks are among the program's top 10 teams in fewest errors (1st, 34), fielding percentage (2nd, .972), strikeouts slugging percentage (6th, .424), on-base percentage (7th, .352), opponent batting average (5th, .265), saves (t1st, 6), home runs (t8th, 32) and strikeouts (7th, 219).

What a Relief
Freshman pitcher Rachel Rook leads the Ohio Valley Conference in games finished (18) and games in relief (20). Rook is also 16th in the nation and tied for second in the league in saves (4).

On Target
Madeline Krumrey leads the Redhawks with 92 strikeouts through 24 games and 23 starts this season. Krumrey is on pace to reach 100 strikeouts in a season for the first time in her career. She fell four strikeouts shy of that mark in 2017 and six strikeouts short of 100 as a freshman in 2015. Krumrey has struck out six or more in three of her last five starts.
