Redhawks Win Game Two, Split Doubleheader with Jacksonville State

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri (19-11, 3-1) had two big home runs and used another strong pitching performance from senior ace Madeline Krumrey to split a doubleheader with defending Ohio Valley Conference Champion Jacksonville State (14-16, 3-1) Sunday. The Redhawks dropped game one, 6-0, but won the nightcap 7-2.

SEMO trailed, 2-0, entering the bottom of the fourth inning of game two when it hit a pair of doubles and two home runs to take the lead.

Abby Tillotson walked and went to third on a double by Addison Barnouski. After Ashley Ellis struck out, Sarah Messex blasted a three-run home run to left field. Riley Hayes then doubled to left field. Pinch-hitter Claudia Gallo stepped in next and clobbered Nicole Rodriguez's first offering over the wall in right center giving the Redhawks a 5-2 advantage. For Gallo, it was the first home run of her career.
