Redhawks Head to Chattanooga Frost Classic
Southeast Missouri (2-3) competes at the nine-team Frost Classic in Chattanooga, Tennessee Friday-Sunday, Feb. 23-25. The Redhawks will play six games at this year's event.
Tournament Field
This year's Chattanooga Frost Classic Tournament field includes host Chattanooga, UT Martin, Southeast Missouri, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, IUPUI, Western Illinois, Alabama State and Western Michigan. The Redhawks open tournament play vs. Evansville (1:30 p.m., CT) and Alabama State (4 p.m., CT) Friday.
Series Records
Southeast is a combined 51-41-1 against the teams it faces in this weekend's Chattanooga Frost Classic. The Redhawks are 42-33 vs. Evansville, 1-2 vs. Alabama State, 7-3 vs. IUPUI, 0-1 vs. Chattanooga, 1-0 vs. Western Michigan and 0-2-1 vs. Western Illinois.
Back in Action
The Redhawks return to action following a week layoff. Southeast opened its 2018 season with a 2-3 record at the Northern Iowa Dome Classic on Feb. 9-11. The  Redhawks beat South Dakota State, 4-1, for its first win of the season in their opener.
Roster Talk
Southeast's 2018 roster consists of 22 players, including five seniors, five juniors, nine sophomores and three freshmen. The Redhawks return all nine of their position starters and two starting pitchers.

Abby Tillotson are the seniors on this year's club. Wernig, Hayes, Pruett and Krumrey have been at Southeast for four seasons.
104 and Counting
Sarah Messex has started 104 consecutive games. Messex, who has not missed a start in her Southeast career, logged the most starts of any Redhawk on this year's team.
Road to 300 Strikeouts
Starting pitcher
Madeline Krumrey is 21 strikeouts away from reaching 300 in her career. Krumrey enters the weekend with 279 strikeouts. She currently ranks seventh all-time among the school's career leaders in that category. Elaine Fisher (2005-08), Southeast's career strikeout leader, was the last to get 300 or more career strikeouts. Fisher finished her career with 510.
Redhawks Crush UMKC
The Redhawks pounded out 14 hits in a dominating 13-3 win over UMKC on Feb. 10. In an early 8 a.m. matchup at the Northern Iowa Dome Classic, Southeast quickly jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. Eight Redhawk starters had a hit as Southeast overpowered the Kangaroos with five extra base hits.
Triple Time
Rachel Anderson had a triple and scored three runs against UMKC (Feb. 10). Anderson joined the school's top-10 career leaders in triples after collecting the 10th of her career.
Returning All-OVC Performers

Mykaela Arellanes each earned Ohio Valley Conference honors in 2017. Anderson was OVC Freshman of the Year and earned both first-team and all-newcomer accolades, while Arellanes garnered all-newcomer laurels. Anderson finished her outstanding rookie campaign at second in the OVC in batting average with a .412 clip. She led the league in triples (8) and was also among the top five individuals in slugging percentage (2nd, .719), on-base percentage (.483), hits (t3rd, 63) and total bases (110). Anderson rated third in the nation in triples and seventh in triples per game (0.16), as well. SEMO's team-leader in batting average, at-bats (153), hits, doubles (10), triples, home runs (7), RBIs (33), total bases, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, multi-hit games (21), multi-RBI performances (10) and games started (50), Anderson ended the year on an 11-game hitting streak. She helped lift the Redhawks to victory in six of their final nine contests of the 2017 campaign. Arellanes, who hails from Foristell, Missouri, was SEMO's third-leading hitter with a .322 average. She led the team with 36 runs scored, 16 stolen bases and 22 walks. Arellanes also added 48 hits, nine doubles, four triples, three home runs and 17 RBIs in 48 starts. A transfer from Northern Illinois, Arellanes recorded multiple-hits 13 times and broke a single-game school record with four stolen bases against Alabama A&M (Mar. 11).Â
Year Four
Mark Redburn is in his fourth year as Southeast's head coach in 2018. The Redhawks saw a +7 increase in the win column last season. Southeast finished the 2017 campaign at 23-27 overall and ninth in the Ohio Valley Conference at 8-14.
Redhawks Picked Eighth in OVCÂ Preseason PollÂ
Southeast was picked eighth in the 2018 Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Poll. The Redhawks tallied 87 points in the overall voting by the league's head coaches and sports information directors. Jacksonville State (230) is this year's preseason favorite. UT Martin (203), SIU Edwardsville (186), Eastern Illinois (183), Murray State (169), Belmont (152) and Eastern Kentucky (139) were also picked ahead of Southeast. Morehead State (77), Tennessee Tech (76) and Austin Peay (53) rounded out the predicted order of finish.
