Southeast Missouri's track and field teams return to action this Friday hosting the Redhawk Open.
Six other teams are set to compete in the event, including Fontbonne, LeMoyne-Owen College, Memphis, Mississippi College, Murray State and Rhodes College.
Field events will start at 4 p.m. beginning with the pole vault. Running events will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the 55 meter hurdles.
Last Time Out
Southeast track and field competed at the Hoosier Hills Invite last Friday at Indiana University.
Sydney O'Brien took first place for SEMO in the women's 3000 meter run, finishing in 10:02.81. This was O'Brien's second first place finish this season.
In the men's 3000 meter run, Marc Maton took second with a time of 8:22.15.
Angie Sumner was the top Redhawk for Southeast in the women's one mile run, finishing in in 5:07.53, good for second place.
In the men's weight throw, Logan Blomquist placed fifth, reaching 58'1.75" (17.72m). He also placed fourth in the shot put, clearing 53'8.5" (16.37m).
Haile Wilson took third in the men's 60 meter dash, finishing in 6.85 seconds.
In the men's high jump, Tallyn Brazell took third Southeast, reaching 6'5.5" (1.97m).
Next Time Out
This is the final regular season meet of the indoor season for the Redhawks. Next week they will travel to Charleston, Ill. for the OVC Indoor Championships. Competition begins on Friday at Lantz Fieldhouse.
