Redhawks Continue Four-Game Trek
Southeast Missouri (9-11, 3-4) heads to Eastern Illinois (7-11, 3-4) Saturday. Tip-off is set for 3:15 p.m., CT, at Lantz Arena.

Two-Week Trip
Southeast is on its longest road trip in Ohio Valley Conference play. After Saturday's meeting with Eastern Illinois, the Redhawks close out the month at Tennessee Tech (Jan. 25) and Jacksonville State (Jan. 27). The four-game road trip matches Southeast's longest of the season.
Series History
The Redhawks own a 26-24 advantage in its all-time series against Eastern Illinois. Southeast has dropped four of its last five meetings with the Panthers. The Redhawks are looking to end a three-game losing streak at Lantz Arena. Southeast last fell to the Panthers in Charleston by a score of 86-80 (OT) on Feb. 11, 2017.
Afternoon Games
Southeast plays its seventh afternoon game of the season when it tips off against Eastern Illinois. The Redhawks are currently 2-4 in afternoon contests. Southeast has three more afternoon matchups scheduled after Saturday's game.
In Position
A win over Eastern Illinois Saturday will give the Redhawks their first sweep of the EIU and SIU Edwardsville road swing since 2012. Southeast beat the Panthers, 74-53, on Jan. 30 and SIUE, 85-72, on Feb. 11 that year.
Happy Birthday Denzel!
Denzel Mahoney celebrated his 20th birthday by scoring a career-high 36 points to lead Southeast to an 86-74 victory over SIU Edwardsville Thursday. Mahoney shot 9-of-14 from the field, knocked down a career-high five 3-pointers, grabbed seven rebounds and made 13-of-15 free throws. It was the second 30-point game of his career. Mahoney's 36 points tied an Ohio Valley Conference single-game high.

Denzel Mahoney's 36-point effort at SIU Edwardsville (Jan. 18) put him back on top of the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring with 20.2 points per game. Mahoney is also scoring 23.1 points per game in six seven Ohio Valley Conference starts. Murray State's Jonathan Stark (19.5 ppg) and UT Martin's Matthew Butler (17.1 ppg) round out the league's top three scorers.
First OVC Road Win
Southeast picked up its first Ohio Valley Conference road win of the season with an 86-74 victory at SIU Edwardsville (Jan. 18). The Redhawks 86 points were their most in an OVC road win since they put up 96 in a 96-74 victory at UT Martin on Feb. 16, 2013.
Free Throw Machine
Denzel Mahoney has made and attempted more free throws than anyone in the Ohio Valley Conference this season. Mahoney enters Saturday's game with 130-of-156 free throws for 83.3 percent. The next closest to Mahoney in made free throws is Eastern Kentucky's Nick Mayo with 71. He ranks 10th in the nation in free throws made and 15th in free throw attempts. Mahoney also rates eighth among Southeast's all-time career leaders in free throw percentage (262-of-318, .824).
Kowalski Back in Action
After missing two games due to illness, redshirt-freshman Ray Kowalski returned to action at SIU Edwardsville (Jan. 18). Kowalski scored eight points in 15 minutes off the bench.
Vranes and Carpenter Return to Starting Lineup
Forward Milos Vranes and center Justin Carpenter returned to the starting lineup at SIU Edwardsville (Jan. 18). Both Vranes and Carpenter did not start for two games due to illness. Vranes scored three points in 15 minutes and Carpenter had five points and three rebounds in 17 minutes against the Cougars.
20-Point Man
Denzel Mahoney scored over 20 points in four-straight starts. Mahoney pitched in 24 points at Austin Peay (Jan. 6), 22 vs. Morehead State (Jan. 11), 25 vs. Eastern Kentucky (Jan. 13) and a career-high 36 at SIU Edwardsville (Jan. 18). He scored over 20 points in five of his last six games and a team-high 10 times this season.
Last Time Out
Southeast held SIU Edwardsville under 40 percent (39.7) from the field in an 86-74 victory at the Vadalabene Center Thursday. The Redhawks led, 35-28, at the half and went up by as many as 18 with 13:25 remaining the second stanza. Southeast held an opponent under 40 percent from the field for the third time this season.
