2016-17: Missed the entire season with a knee injury...Underwent surgery and was granted a medical hardship.
Prep: All-Cabarrus County selection who averaged 20 points per game and shot 57 percent (176-of-311) as a senior at Concord High School...Knocked down 67-of-140 three-pointers for 48 percent and finished the year with a total of 540 points...Also grabbed 79 rebounds, dished out 45 assists and had 18 steals...Received seven MaxPreps Player of the Game awards...Went over 1,000 points in his prep career...Averaged 19 points, five rebounds and 3.5 steals per game as a junior...Earned all-conference and all-district accolades, while being tabbed the best shooter in Cabarrus County...Shot 48 percent from 3-point range, dropping in 3.2 threes per game...Suffered a serious back injury when a player undercut him at a Junior All-American Camp in South Carolina...Was a student at Concord Middle School when he suffered that injury which kept him away from basketball for 11 months...Was cleared to return to the court as a ninth-grader...Played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Northside Christian Academy...The Knights won the state title both years that Kowalski was there, going a combined 62-4...Ranked among the top 50 players in North Carolina, according to phenomhoopreport.com.
