Southeast Missouri women's basketball (8-10, 3-3) battle the Eastern Kentucky Colonels (8-9, 5-1) at 7 p.m. at the Vadalabene Center in Edwardsville, Ill. on Wednesday.

The Cougars are 8-9 on the season, 5-1 in conference play. Last game they defeated the Tennessee State Tigers 74-63, Donshel Beck led the way with 17 points. They are led on the season by Lauren White and Donshel Beck who are averaging 13.8 and 13.2 points per game, respectively.

Southeast defeated the Cougars in their last meeting 78-74 on Feb. 8, 2017. The Cougars won the meeting before 70-69 on Jan. 18, 2017. Southeast leads the all-time series 22-18.
 
Thompson Named OVC Freshman of the Week for Second Time
Freshman Guard Tesia Thompson was named the OVC Freshman of the Week for the second time this year after averaging 22.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals on the week. She was also named the Madness OVC Player of the week for her efforts.
 
Redhawks Take Down EKU 69-55
Southeast took advantage of the 35 turnovers by the Colonels as they went on to win by 14. Tesia Thompson tied a career-high with 23 points and had a career-high six steals.

The Redhawks will head to Charleston, Ill. on Saturday to battle the EIU Panthers.
