QUINCY, Ill. -- Southeast Missouri (3-2) wrapped up its three match week with 6-1 victory over Quincy (3-4) Sunday.
The Redhawks picked up their second consecutive victory, winning back-to-back matches for the first time since 2014.
SEMO again opened the day sweeping the doubles point to take an early advantage.
Isabella Krupa and
Oleksandra Doroshenko remained at the top of the lineup, shutting out QU's Amy Kuhle and Sydney Lynch, 6-0.
Kseniya Zonova and
Anais Emelie (No. 2) picked up their team-leading fourth win of the season over Rebecca McIssac and Elizabeth Kuenzi, 6-3.
Mila Majtan paired with
Ana Canahuate-Torres in the No. 3 position, winning 6-1 against the Hawks' Morgan McGinnis and Anna Konczak.
The Redhawks went on to win five of six singles matches, clinching all in straight sets. Doroshenko (No. 2), Zonova (No. 3),
Annisa Warasanti (No. 4), Emelie (No. 5) and Torres (No. 6) each won their matches in convincing fashion. Krupa fell at the top of the lineup.
"The team was very focused on being aggressive and engaging the opponent today," said head coach
Mary Beth Gunn.
